Trouble is with your approach that (as ever) if directors buy, then they are described as either not buying enough and therefore not displaying confidence, or buying too much and too often so must be desperate. Additionally nobody actually knows if they are not allowed to buy due to external factors and negotiations, so this can be twisted any old way depending on what you want to believe or want others to believe.

It also helps that the US government shutdown seems to be off the cards for the while - I believe Trump lost a lot of popularity during the last one so I imagine that while he will continue with his bullying brinksmanship, he may try to avoid a shutdown if it will cost him support. But why on earth would he bother? Three years after leaving a company he decides to start posting on a share discussion bulletin board? It makes no sense whatsoever, and what he writes could be written by anyone. Also he and some of the acolytes on there have 'history', shall we say. Pit yourself in his shoes and ask why would you feel the need to stick your thoughts into a proper nest of bikers who have nursed a simmering hatred for you and your colleagues, would you honestly go back after three years and give them the 'potted history of the inside track'?
