It’s not in Awacta’s hands. Results will arrive once complete, there’ll be no shortcuts because a bunch of whinging PIs are impatient. I was encouraged when someone recently posted up results from LSTMs evaluation of an antibody test. It showed how thorough and professional they are. They will be considering lots of different sample types and different time periods.

Funnily enough, this takes time. You don’t get a perfect batch of people stroll in. You have to sign people up, understand where they are in their infection and then in some cases wait until they fit in to the days since infection bracket you’re interested in. There are real infected people at the other end of this process so why not show a bit of respect, show a bit of patience and give the miserable bleating a rest for a day.

Muck, I suspect so. That’s probably why Sir Al didn’t want to release their 100/100 lab results, just in case their 98/95 actuals were interpreted to be poor :o)

Jay, it’s all the same thing. It’s complete nonsense, they’re offering those VSC antibody tests. The levels of professionalism and the app they’re on about reminds me of Saturn Pass. I’ll leave that there...

They’ve just scraped in at not far over 80%. It’s certainly not the result they were after. They’ve always seemed to have been struggling, but being an LFT will give them some advantages so I’m sure they’ll get some sales. Chengdo has said it, no affimers, and that’s where David ‘we know’ Wilson got his confidence from.

So that’s the benchmark for starters. Add in that we’re producing a dribble stick and we’re sure to be the best

Makes sense, I’m sure there’ll be some benefits to that, but I think we’ll be needing every possible manufacturer regardless of their tech. In fact, Sir Al just gave me a bell and asked me how many I could produce in my shed using a 3-D printer.

Some of the fixed term jobs mention the consortium and some pointless antibody test. All transferable skills. Keep your eye on that job board. If they start recruiting a small army, that’ll give a bit of a hint...

I don’t think we’ll be getting any operational updates, they’ve outlined the next steps, they’re busy cracking on with it. I think the next LFD RNS will be the clinical validation results, quickly followed by additional partners.

Good find. I’d read about it, but that’s the first time I’ve seen it. Clearly needs work and the throughput isn’t high enough for the scenarios they’re talking about. The concept is good though. My view is we’ll need 4 levels of testing:

1 - community surveillance. Awacta are partnered with Skin for this
2 - mass screening. Awacta have the only 10 min saliva test desperately needed now and ongoing to isolate those infected, especially the asymptomatic
3 - high throughput. Breathalyser looks good, Skin are developing one. Could be a further collaboration with Awacta. Meanwhile, use Awacta’s 10 min saliva tests
4 - hospitals. Awacta have BAMS, the new gold standard

Looks like we’re in the right place and well positioned.
