I’d imagine the tests for national screening will be govt provided so I don’t think cash back would work. Can’t remember where, but there the option of compulsory testing was discussed. Disagree. Currently track and trace isolates any contacts for 14 days. That’s the equivalent of a hefty false positive rate. Any mass screening test with decent specificity will improve on the broad brush currently being used. Affimers are highly specific, it’s what they do. Sir Al said optimisation was focussed on making the test as sensitive as possible. We want to break transmission chains, if a few extra folk have to isolate on the way, so be it, it’ll still be fewer than currently - especially when you include those being quarantined

It only mentions clinics validation studies, but they’ve since appeared in Porton Down so never say never. Hopefully there’s plenty samples available to jump straight through the FDA hurdles.
