What’s there to get excited about that we don’t know? We already know LSTM are working on our test. We know the govt are planning to mass screen. I’m not that bothered about seeing a pipette and some white plastic. We’ve already heard Matt Handjob talking about a 10 min saliva test.

Having said that, have the govt ever been linked with LSTM? If not and this is a first, it’s definitely ours. If so and could be someone else, I’m sure it’s still definitely ours :o)

Hey ST, going back to your question... no idea what they’re up to in Skin, but it sounds very promising. We’ve had many a debate here about the practicality of using an LFD at airports, footy matches etc. If they have cracked it with a breathalyser then that would solve another piece of the puzzle to get back to normal. I wouldn’t see an issue if Awacta missed on that, as there’s plenty humongous demand in mass screening.

I do find their dropping hints style a bit odd. They hinted at cruise ships before their last RNS. This time there’s lots of hints about real time testing with no denials of the hints referring to a breathalyser. There are others in development globally so it’s certainly possible.

Similarly to you in SNG, I’ve added a bit more over there in Skin as I could imagine quite a leap if they do reveal a breathalyser prototype. Not forgetting the prototype of the wastewater testing sensor in partnership with Awacta.

Imagine if they’d included an Awacta branded LFD :-D

Could just be stock footage, I doubt they’re letting cameras stroll around with a live virus knocking about. But... you never know...

It’s all a bit chicken and egg, which is why it’s been good to hear about operation moonshot and the ambition of testing the whole population a couple of times a week. It has to come from the govt, but especially if they want to ensure supply. I’m sure if Awacta et al decided to start producing millions per day they’d be snapped up globally anyway.

CO, firm commitments from the govt are exactly what is needed. It’s quite a leap of faith for manufacturers to commit unbelievably huge production volumes without knowing if the market is definitely there.

Planet Awacta. If everyone that has it today is identified via antigen testing and isolates, it disappears. Even if a vaccine is developed, who fancies taking it? I don’t... Who is to say it would be effective anyway?

Admittedly I’m not up to speed with the latest thinking in this area. I’m with ST, it’s all about antigen testing for me. If you can get the disease fully under control through screening and isolation, then antibody testing becomes irrelevant and the need for a vaccine diminishes.
