Exactly mart, they'll work with what they've got. Who knows, maybe they've got their hands on some of the pricy at home tests the FDA have approved. I'm not sure there's much value in another is it us debate. Until we have a test that's been proven to work in clinical trials and has a CE mark, it's definitely not us.

It all looks a bit generic anyway. It looks like they're approving it in principle and explicitly for screening only, which is the correct use case. Beyond that, if a high performing and simple to use LFD turns up (anyone know of one...?) then they will hopefully extend that to diagnosis.

As with a lot of people Covid alerted me to Awacta, but as I did my research and saw the slides showing the results in mice I just said wow. I’m not the exclaiming type, in case that wasn’t obvious by my typically cynical sarcastic posts. It’s truly ground breaking stuff and today is a landmark day for the company and I’m pleased and proud to be a shareholder.

Good question. We don’t know cosmic, because of the poor comms. Other companies have released an RNS to reassure shareholders. Given WaffAl loves the latest version of the test, you have to guess (no other option) that it’s ok.

Incidentally given it took them 4 weeks to ship some affimers last time, my view is that future mutations would play in to Awacta’s hands. As we’re now using standard components you’d imagine they can be very agile and responsive to any necessary changes

Yes, he’s said it a few times. The conclusion is that they had a go with dribble but the clinical results didn’t match up so they went back to the drawing board. I don’t care as long as they get there, but it would have been nice to have been updated in a timely fashion. It’d be nice to know for a fact and be updated at all, but it’s all speculation due to the poor comms. I hope WaffAl’s new year resolution is to keep his shareholders properly informed

I wouldn't worry Timster, Deeks will be all over this as soon as the govt start waving it about and validation numbers appear. Hopefully they'll be good and hopefully due to the nature of how the sample is taken they'll also be consistent which is key. He's also focussed on arguing for appropriate use cases, so we'll have to see just how good it is. If it's the holy grail then get them everywhere as a diagnostic , if it's useful for screening only then ensure that's how it's used. Huge markets either way, but the holy grail will set awacta apart on the global stage. Time (yawn) will tell...

Yes, it all comes down to the S&S numbers and it being a quality test as you’ve said. We don’t want to find ourselves in the same boat as Innova. If its use case is only mass screening then it’s success will reduce the market. That said, it’s an absolutely huge market as there’s the entire globe to go at and repeated, regular testing is key. For venues and visiting James (he was framed), you’re then using it as a diagnostic and it needs to be absolutely fool proof.
