Happy new year Kainos. Cant say I’m surprised to see the usual type of posters, they get everywhere. I’ve been lurking for a while looking for a decent entry point and feel the tide is now turning here. Still waiting for Awacta so I missed out on the BRH dramas but watched from the sidelines. Should be a good start all round in 2021 hopefully

Good stuff folks, nice to see some research especially on the oncology side as the Covid side has been discussed to death. Be really interesting to see how aptevo plays out. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them reject the approach despite the leap as their mcap is still low at $50 == $160m.

Selecta, what attracted you in to considering investment here? You’ve listed the risks, I take it there’s an equivalent list of rewards that outweigh them that brought you to this share?

I bought at the closing bell and I’m looking for a nice bounce here. I’m expecting everything on your list to be resolved in the very near term and wouldn’t be surprised to see new highs. There’s a great market for them to go for as masks will be need for a long time and they will have a good selling point. Plus the other opportunities as detailed on this thread.

I’m not sure aptamers/optimers are up to the job as they were binned off by paraytec for their test development a while back. You also have to ask why Deepverge signed an agreement for affimers after previously signing for a supply of aptamers. CEO Gerry won’t be drawn on a performance comparison, but why would you sign up another supplier if the one you had was working well.

You now have Mologic in bed with the previously paired aptamer group and Cytiva. This again suggests Cytiva aren’t bringing much to the test development partnership if Mologic have been brought in. It’s all a bit farcical, but it suggests it clearly not as easy as we were led to believe, although to be fair to Klaus, he never seemed convinced.

Anyway, who cares about Mologic, they’re developing a test for Gates. Their extra development time was probably incorporating the chip that you have to inject before taking the test. Meanwhile at Awacta towers WaffAl was very happy indeed. I really do hope it’s based on some preliminary clinical testing and not the lab based results. We’ll find out ‘shortly’. Gulp.

Yeah, the govt are hell bent on going their own way. Why not ignore the manufacturer and the limited vaccine testing that was done, just pump it in the populations arms and wait and see

Just you, drama queen. There’s only been 2 at home tests approved by the FDA and none by the MHRA. Sona, like others, had a test ready a while back but approvals are proving tricky. As painfully slow as it is, at least there’s a clear route to market if the test performs well.

I don’t believe it was political in the slightest. They tried dribble and failed. Rather than tell the market they continued with ‘optimisation’ whilst in reality they were back to the drawing board with BBI and AN. Whatever, it’s in the past. Let’s hope that Q1 is transformational as Q4 was a damp squib. Some nuggets in there with the new partnership and the application going in, but nothing hugely material testing wise. We’ve been saying it for 6 months but who knows, maybe we’re finally and genuinely heading in to a news rich period.

Every day that goes by awacta pivot back to being a primarily oncology company as they get closer to that first dosing. The current share price is pretty much a free hit on a pile of covid cash that will speed up development of other drugs in the pipeline. It's a classic win-win (bingo anyone?)

Very disappointed that he didn’t have another attempt at crying. They’re not giving out the half dose and it looks like they’re following the advice of the scientific expert Tony Blair in dishing out first doses to as many as possible. They haven’t a clue how effective it is and 62%, especially without full take up, is not enough.
