I don't tend to follow Rycey but have been looking at them over the last few days with all the mentions on here - Do they usually mirror each other almost exactly? Is this particularly unusual behaviour?

It would be interesting (though tedious) to work your way through the 2 or 3 hundred Fool articles which have been published over the past couple of years and analyse how many said "buy" and how many said "not for me". I'm afraid I don't read it anymore however in my early days I'd digest the odd article and be amazed how many times it would end with "despite good results and a positive future I'm afraid Rolls Royce isn't on my buying list at this time as I believe there are better opportunities in the marketplace..." To think some poor saps would read that and move onto the next share....

You read one analyst who is vastly out of step with all other analysts and decide they are making a good point - the only way Berenberg will ever have their ridiculous valuation proved right is if WW3 breaks out, Ebola starts spreading like wildfire or there is a MASSIVE engine fault that has gone undetected for the past 10 years.

From what I've heard the minerals deal is a white elephant. Hardly worth the paper it's written on. It is however a massive ego boost to the orange one who likes to think of himself as a businessman (a seven times bankrupt businessman...)

Just been getting a quote for solar panels (you can't just sit on your shares forever...). Anyways he mentioned Tesla powerbank batteries whilst he was talking me through the quote - I interjected and said "are there alternatives to Tesla" - yes, he said "do you mind me asking why not Tesla?" - "I just think Musk is a knob" I replied - "we've been getting a lot of that lately" he replied..... I know it's infintissimally small but every little helps.....

The problem with assassinating trump is you are opening the door of the Presidency to someone who is competent. The one advantage the Democrats have is trump is incredibly incompetent. As far as musk is concerned I think he's started to show his true colours - the idea that he's some sort of genius is a bit far fetched - I've read he has a pretty average intelligence - He bought Tesla and ran with it - He surrounded himself with people cleverer than him - which is a sensible thing to do - and took advantage of being "first to market". SpaceX is a Government funded company which has benefitted from the largest federal hand outs to any company EVER (sending rockets to space is pricey - being given billions upon billions of public money makes it much, much easier). It makes me smile every time he criticises the bloated federal budget when you consider how much his companies have received over the years (Tesla wasn't averse to a few hand outs....)

Vance should know better but power makes people support / do strange things. Isn't trump on the record saying he doesn't think Vance should succeed him?? I presume he's lining it up for Donnie to take over.

Openeyes - I haven't watched the Oval Office interaction as trumps whiny voice makes me want to vomit. I have however read a transcript. Trump and Vance had one mission in that meeting - to belittle and attack Zelensky - They didn't treat him as an ally. As far as Zelensky being defensive - trump had called him a dictator a week before and stated that Ukraine started the war??? Questioning his attire was bizarre - people have pointed out since that Churchill routinely wore war milatary fatigues during the war - and let's not forget Musk wearing T shirt, jeans and a baseball hat in the oval office - the criticism is coming from the same party that was aghast at Obama wearing a "tan" suit and not always wearing a tie!! It is difficult to negotiate with someone when they constantly utter Russian talking points - I imagine putin was rubbing his hands with glee whilst watching the orange one - Rubio sat there embarrassed - you can see archival footage of Rubio explaining the Ukraine situation at length - he actually understands the nuances so would be utterly shocked at trumps attack - makes you wonder what dirt they have on Rubio.

My take on the orange one and Ukraine.

Putin wants the US to stop backing Ukraine. The orange one is under Putins thumb (Putin almost certainly has incredibly damaging kompromat on trump - both financial (Russia either giving or loaning him billions) and salacious (trump has visited Russia a number of times... we've all heard of the KGB and honeytraps...).

Putin is clever (and to use a trump phrase "holds all the cards"... :-). The orange one is not very bright.

Putin tells trump to offer an unrealistic deal to Ukraine - knowing that Zelensky will refuse it. The orange one then has the perfect platform to tell his followers / the world that he tried his best but Zelensky is being unreasonable and so will withdraw aid until Zelensky relents.

The orange one comes out of this looking like he's tried to help whereas in reality he's just done what Putin told him to do.

Putin will continue working on Europe - We are lucky the AFD didn't do better in Germany - An AFD controlled Germany would be happy to withdraw support for Ukraine. The conspiracy theorist side of me sees Russia sponsoring terror attacks in Europe (and blaming it on immigrants) in attempt to embolden "the right".

Europe has a narrow window and must act fast and decisively. I believe the leaders are aware of this - a United Europe can help Ukraine defeat Russia - Russia is on its knees economically (you may have noticed the US is now looking to undo sanctions....Why?? (Kompromat)).

Tougher sanctions, more military support. Spending Russia's confiscated billions on munitions to be used against them would be the icing on the cake.....

Getting this rather long and rambling post back to RR.... Defence stocks are going to be making money for fun over the next 5 - 10 years.

A Trump US can no longer be trusted. Europe needs to seize Russian assets and use them to fund Ukraine.

Trumps latest action (attempting to bully Ukraine into doing what he wants by withdrawing aid) could actually benefit RR as its another reason for Europe to massively increase spend on defence. I think Europe had pretty much come to that conclusion already (trump isn't exactly subtle) but actions such as this reaffirm the necessity to re-arm. Tarriffs could possibly affect the supply chain?? But overall I'm not convinced any of trumps actions are going to negatively impact RR. I'm gobsmacked Tesla hasn't crashed through the floor (like their sales have). Trump seems to be desperately trying to tip the US into a recession - i can only assume he's shorted the market.

Where's Tottenham? Have you received a grovelling appology from him yet NTC? Or is he on one of his cruises conspiring about faulty fan blades?

I'm an impatient fellow.... so I occaisionally look at alternative sources for more up to date prices. I tend to look at IG or Google. Google shows 2 price blips - one at 11.38am and one at 1.54pm - both showing sharp downward spikes (11.38 price dropped from 782 to 769 for seemingly 1 minute (or less) and at 1.54 the price dropped from 797 to 781 for the same short time). IG doesn't show these blips - Is it just Google being Google (we all know by now their closing price can't be trusted)?? Are they real drops or GoogleFU's???

Svend - as ever I love your work - However surely you've missed narrow body?? - I doubt RR have been sitting around just thinking about narrow body for the last 2 or 3 years - they've been working on it, developing it, designing it. I know the lead time for new engines is long (C 5 years) but we're already potentially 3 years into that 5 years - a combination of Narrow body, SMR, Debt Reduction, Share buybacks, attractive dividends and general Bon Homie should see this share spank £20 in 5 years..... shouldn't it??

With SMR / Narrow body and Ultrafan around the corner this could go to £20 in the next 5 years. These are just the things we know about - Royces will be working on some new funky tech on the side aswell.

I'm pinching myself - after a couple of months of tooing and frooing with no real movement it's suddenly on fire - messing around at £6 seems like months away whereas in reality it was last week... now approaching £8 with no sign of stopping. This is total and utter madness.

Is there a new "target" Svend? Can a seasoned chartist keep up with a stock like RR which is benefiting from so many different avenues? It's a nice problem to have not being able to predict the rise because the share is overperforming :-) Defence stocks are going to rally for the next 5 - 10 years by the looks of it - I suppose there's a limit to how much money a company can make - not quite there yet though...
