Hi Svend,

So RR will announce what Divi they propose paying on results day? Does this need to then get rattified / voted on by the AGM? I realise the vote is a foregone conclusion if the matter has the boards backing - just wondered what the mechanics of the process was?

To stave off the monotomy of only watching one share (in which I have "skin in the game") I sold some RR and bought some IAG a while ago - I've been pleasantly surprised - Also bought some Empire Metals on the back of Cev's comments - another pleasant surprise. I got a bit carried away and ended up buying Immupharma - Lots of chat on the boards - It's quite an exhilarating share as it's not afraid to move - both up and down... if you listen to some of the posters big things could happen... we'll see. I seem to have completely mis-timed my purchase of the much vaunted GST which appears to be on a death spiral - perhaps I should take note of Svends advice and cut my losses....

Anyhow - barring major macro economic events I reckon we still have an outside chance of the fabled £7 on results day... If this can steadily rise to 650 / 660 and then RR publish bombastic results.....and then we have the SMR announcement to look forward to in March and the Dividend to get voted through at the AGM.... Good times.

Indeed Darbinator. Smr is a very useful addition to an already very successful company. The barriers to entry in both aero engines and smr are massive which bodes well for the future :-)

Not sure anyone's getting too carried away with smr. The simple fact is RR is in an incredibly good position to get heavily involved in the development of smr. Yes, the actual sites are years and years from completion however if RR gets awarded the UK deal (or 50 or 60% of the UK deal) it's a massive shot in the army for their smr business. I'd guess the SP will go up 5%+ when this is announced. Remember the UK deal is just one of many deals RR is bidding for (i would expect a corresponding SP jump with each deal they land). Smr's are 2 or 3 billion each - it's not to be sniffed at.

I wouldn't worry too much about Turbo offloading shares - much of his pay is in shares - his goal will therefore undoubtedly be to increase the SP (assuming he has a modicum of capitalism running through his blood) - He knows the SP can reach £9 or £10 easily within the next couple of years - with a trailing wind and no major macro economic calamities.

I assumed RR's drop was an unrelated knock on effect from the Nvidia / AI stuff however I've just read there is a correlation (of sorts) that links the 2... (see below) - Whilst I wouldn't necessarily label RR an "energy company" - it obviously has some interest in this market via SMR's. Appologies if this has already been mentioned / pointed out. It was new to me....

No problem Svend. 666.4 it is then :-). Could have done without the Chinese cheap AI shenanigans.....Nvidia is getting hammered and seemingly bringing everyone else down with it.....

I must admit I know next to nothing with regards to the science behind this share... However having stumbled upon it a week or so ago and investing a small amount for "fun" I'm quite enjoying the ride. I'm old and grey enough to take some of the things said on here with a pinch of salt (or even a teaspoon or two of salt in some cases) - however there's also the dreamer inside of me that wonders "what if". I've happily idled a few minutes away thinking of what car I might buy with my new found fortune - worst case scenario is it all goes belly up and I lose my stake..... however that 1% chance that it really does take off and deliver keeps me smiling. Enjoy the ride :-)

Just out of interest how many companies are there to choose from when sourcing suppliers for a deal such as this?? In fact how many suppliers of nuclear engines for submarines are there?? I'm guessing the Russians have a company that can do it.... maybe the Chinese?? Just looked up who makes the subs for the yanks and it's good old GE...

No doubt a good deal for Royces. Surprised the market didn't react positively atall??? I presume already totally priced in?

Can results day move Divi's further forward? The company has already committed to a Dvi - don't we just need a vote at the AGM to ratify it?

Cev.....Of course you can retire without a pension.... if your ISA has £1m in it. Pensions and ISA's are simply conduits for money - that happen to be tax efficient. It's perfectly possible to not have a pension and rely on savings that have been squirreled away in an ISA.

If this can get to 650 / 660 before results day and results are stellar..... £7 is most defintely ON... :-)

I agree Pappalazz. I sold some of my holdings with a view to re-buying on the "cheap" - knowing my luck we will accelerate through the £6 barrier and I will be left high and dry..... I've watched it see saw between 560 and 590 so much over the past weeks I decided it was a risk worth taking....
