I don't understand how RR can trade under a different name in the staes but still be the same company - Is anyone able to explain this to me as if I'm a 10 year old? (I'm not the sharpest knife in the set and am getting on a bit...)

Considering all the European indexes are down and the US indexes are taking quite a battering..... RR has done pretty well today.... Just need to break through that pesky £6 barrier.

RE"China seems to be having some big issues at the moment" - Unless (like last time) they are not being totally honest - the WHO suggests it isn't a big deal. The word on the street suggests it's not that bad (in the grand scheme of things).

I took the plunge this morning and invested a small sum in the much talked about GST.... so far, so good. GST forum has 189 comments so far today (we have 20). I dug a bit deeper.... I'd never noticed you could look at "todays hot topics" via the chat button at the top. This instantly shows you where the action is. Immupharma is at the top having released an RNS this morning outlining a breakthrough in immunisation (paraphrasing). RR will be at the top come Feb 27th.... but until then I might start paying a bit more attention to see where the braggers and whingers are congregating..... disclaimer... I know this is slightly off topic but quite frankly I don't care.

We're coming off the back of some pretty quiet months....(yes, yes I know the figures below are actually quite good but I'm comparing them to when RR was properly motoring and seeing gains of 8 / 9 / 10 % a month....)

September - +5.2%

October - +3.8%

November - +.2%

December - + 4.2%

However if we take 580 as a starting point and assume Jan will see 4% increase that takes us to 603. If there starts to be an enthusiastic push in the run up to results day (and maybe Svends fabled 666.6 kicks in...) a 10% increase gets us into the 660's.... then all we need is great results and a 5% bump on 27th and we're there.... Happy days (and IMO - an achieveable target)

Although I was always going to buy "some" Royces shares I was persuaded to go all in having read your freakish prediction 18 months or so ago. I've always kept the faith and todays agonisingly close sale was only to try and be clever and increase my shareholding with a buy back when it does one of its odd drops.... £7 is looking a tall order at the mmoment - a few months ago I was thinking £7 was light and £8 was achievable - We need to get past this silly £6 stopper and get to 630 / 640 before results day..... and then be blown away with incredible results come Feb. Nice to hear from you. We should meet up and celebrate with some catnip after results day - you Leicestershire way?

Thanks for the translation Svend :-) I was so close to selling today when it got to 583.... in the hope of waiting a day / week / month for it to drop into the 560's so I could re-buy -- but I lost my bottle and held...

Svend.... I wish I could understand half of what you say.... but the jist is there is more transactional activity...600 is a bit of a pyschological barrier....and the share is showing good signs regarding "strength"... Sounds good to me :-)

I realise this is an RR forum.... I get that. However... I'd be interested to know where else people see a profit in 2025. I divested (briefly) about a year ago and the FOMO and anxiety led me to quickly sell my diversified stocks and return to the welcoming bosom of RR (the stocks I had divested in actually did quite well both whilst I was in them and since (apart from Vistry...)) - However I found keeping track of so many stocks a tad too stressful (I'm quite a simple soul). A quick google search has the following top picks for 2025 - Anyone care to throw their thoughts this way. To pre-empt the "this board is for RR and nothing else should be discussed" brigade - It's ONE thread (and can easily be ignored if it's not your cup of tea :-))

The ones that stand out to me are Croda, LSEG and Astrazenecca (multiple mentions). Last time I followed the advice of an analysts top picks for the year (admittedly on a "fantasy" share buying site) it didn't end well..... No mention of Royces hat I can see.... PS for the "this board is for RR stuff only" brigade I'm wearing a hat and protective suit with ear muffs on so you can't hurt me.... Peak.

Is there (in all probability) going to be any shockingly good news until results day?? SMR (don't know where we stand with Sweden and Poland but the UK isn't going to sign off anything soon), Divi's - won't be formalised until AGM, Narrow Body - is a much longer term aspiration rather than an imminent announcement, large orders - (specifically I'm thinking Emirates) - won't buy until the time on the wing issue is fully resolved.... With this in mind maybe a short term strategy should be wait for it to get close to 5.80 / 5.90, sell and then re-invest when it collapses to 5.50 / 5.60?? - Obviously there are tax implications unless you are trading in a SIPP or ISA but if you have a chunk in your ISA / SIPP what's the worst that can happen?? - you miss out on an unexpected surge due to positive market sentiment?? - I don't see any fundamental positive news pushing this much beyond £6 before results day - and it's been lurking in the 5.60 - 5.90 range for a while now... (As I have said before as soon as I sell on a high it will surge onwards and leave me in its wake) - however looking at it pragmatically 1)I've done pretty well on this share over the last couple of years so if I miss a 3 or 4% rise - big deal and 2) bearing in mind the factors above I'd say an unexpected European SMR announcement is the only likely good news between now and results day?? Am I missing something or just stating the bleedin obvious?

Whenever I tell people rr will be £7 because a cat told me they start to doubt my wisdom..... I then have to go through the smr, dividends, narrow body, big orders, no debt, massive airmiles speech to get them back on board :-) I don't have enough the bottle to back up my prediction with "but a pirate says its true also....."

Any reason for today's sp shenanigans apart from a reposte to the rather lacklustre end of year malaise?

Such an obvious and straight forward motto... Sell high and buy low... and over the last couple of months you would have gained some serious extra shares if you had carried out this rather simple ruse.... Not me though - God no. As soon as I enter the fray and sell on a high the price will continue past the high and motor off into the distance - so I hold.....and hold.... and hold. Boring but in the long term rewarding :-) In some ways I feel a bit trapped - When I see people urging others to "fill their boots" when RR drops - I can't as all my money is invested - and when the price soars and I'm a paper thousandaire I smile inwardly but fail to realise the full gratification by selling and counting my money for fear of missing out on a surge.... Roll on Feb results day - don't let me down RR......I have shown incredible faith and restraint - I deserve to be rewarded :-) HNE all - onwards and upwards....

For picking the FTSE 's best performing stock of the year. Here's to continued success in 2025!! So much more good news to come... surely NTC's prediction will come good. Even if RR fails to deliver the fabled £7 in Feb 2025 I still have high hopes medium term. A repeat of this year's growth in 2025 will see us pushing £12...... I'd settle for £9 by the end of 2025. Let's see what 2025 brings us. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all :-)
