I'm probably not the best person to speak to RE "will it happen" - RR has gor confusing as F recently - I remember not that long ago we had a run of 30 odd weeks with increases EVERY week. I'm in it for the long haul so have time to wait for SMR's / Div's / Massive orders and narrow body announcements to kick in.... Will it be 7 or 8 quid after results day?? Who knows (apart from Svend of course....)

I think Svend would describe it as "noise" - in this case the noise has drowned out the good news.... TBF the engines for 10 poxy A350's won't really affect the SP. Think long term Badland - Think of that lovely £7 goal come Feb 2025 :-) (or £8 or £9 if you're feeling optimistic :-))

I'm with HL and they seem to manage the tax rebate admirably. I have recent experience of transferring a pension which took 9 months to complete..... I was utterly flabbergasted by the level of incompetence displayed whilst carrying out what I thought was a reasonably simple transaction. Best of luck with your transfer NTC.

They'll be working on this. Airbus must surely be looking to take advantage of Boeings woes - A new exciting narrow body using RR's latest ultrafan technology would be an exciting announcement - Wouldn't be in servce until 2030's though....

Just read a story on Linkedin that suggests the Chinese have managed to get the price of extracting Uranium from Seawater down to $150 / KG (current price of land extraction is $130 / KG). This is a vast improvement from the previous costings of seawater extraction ($560 / KG). The price of seawater extraction is predicted to dip below land extraction costs in the next couple of years...

I post this for 2 reasons - Firstly some bright sparks may have thought outside the box and invested in Uranium mining companies on the back of SMR and secondly I presume a plethora of Uranium can only be a good thing for SMR's (RR uses Uranium Dioxide as its fuel)

Czech SMR announcement on 19th September prompted the SP to move from 500 - 525 (a 5% increase) - We still have potential deals from Poland, the Dutch and of course the UK - I don't know how the size of these various deals compare to the Czech deal but it certainly won't negatively affect the SP - just going with RR winning 2 out of the 3 that's a possible 10% bump in the SP??

Dividends - Whilst the intention to resurrect Divi's has ben announced some institutions won't make a move until they are set in stone - so this should create another bump when this is done (at the AGM??)

Narrow body - Anyone who's watched Tufan's recent interviews will be aware he is very keen too get back into narrow body (and he has stated this is something they are working on) - it is unknown how far down the line they are with this - However I suspect they've been working on it for a couple of years (at least). Whilst it may take a further 2 or 3 years to actually produce the first narrow body engine an announcement of a partnership and target date for said engines launch should create a bump...

Time on the wing. Again, Tufan has talked a lot about the money RR has invested to improve the time on the wing issue (a particular issue in "sandy" countries). I'm of the understanding the issue has been resoolved and is going through the testing process. This brings into play some very big engine orders (remember Emirates??)

I'm tempted to sell a load and wait for the inevitable (??) drop after this weeks run.... However if I did that it would continue rising all the way to £6.80 without taking a breath (sods law). So I'll hang on, ride out the bumps and celebrate with a curry when it hits the fabled £7. (disclaimer - I am no financial expert and much of what I have learned comes from a particularly biased BB :-))

In the recent General Election 9,708,716 said 🖕🏼to the Tories. My last utterances on this board were my bold (and it turns out very wrong) prediction that Kamala would beat the rapey fraudster. I may come across as some lunatic left winger - I'm not. I simply know what I like and what I don't like. Yes, conservatives don't like the current Government and want shot of them - I get that - however it's a bit rich to lose the election and call foul because you don't like the outcome. The Tories got obliterated at the election. They had the best part of 5000 days in power. Labour have been in power for less than 200 days. My answer to anyone moaning about Labour is just give them a chance. If they screw it up there will be another election where you can vote them out (though not, I'm afraid, imminently). Judging them on what they've achieved in 200 days just seems a bit silly. I won't be partaking in any left Vs right shennaigans - I've got a twitter account for that...

Re Clinton and trump. To be fair Clinton was leading by 5 or 7 points going into election day. Comer didn't help things with his 11th hour bs about Clinton's email server.... I can't understand the odds in today's election. Maybe I've been caught up in my little blue world. I'm still going landslide Harris victory. The alternative just doesn't add up or make sense from what I've seen. I have now paid the bookies a visit and will be very interested in the exit polls......

I'll be shell-shocked if trump wins sully. Whilst I may be cocooned in a like minded world in my followers area of twitter everything I have seen suggests a blowout victory for Harris. A narrow victory for Harris won't be good (for the rr sp / markets in general) as there will be a deluge of lawsuits and uncertainty and violence. A trump victory could prove painful for rr (tarrifs). A blowout victory for Harris is my preferred option both in a personal political way and a rr sp way. Well know soon enough...

Small update on djt stock (which is election related and in turn consequential to rr sp). Massive drop. I'm guessing word has got out that trumps chances are stark and people are dumping the stock before it gets into single figures (it's only actually worth anything if trump wins). A Harris win would be better for RR sp (imho). I'd be amazed if trump hasn't attempted to dump his shares.

RE: Trading Update - Are there realistically any surprises expected? I'm assuming we'll be presented with a strong set of solid figures (increased margins / better than expected profit and more debt paid off) - Any chance of Tufan throwing in anything else? Or do trading updates tend to be just an update on figures?

It could be the US election - Could be news of fantastic trading update seeping out...Just looked at DJT to see what it was doing - up 13% (on the back of a sea of speculative buys).

I won't be drawn into a long winded and futile debate. Some people will be drawn to the adjudicated sexual abuser, 34 count felon who inherited $400m from his Daddy and went bankrupt 6 times and who's economic policy is tariffs...who's housing policy is using the abandoned properties of the 10 million he wants to deport and who's foreign policy consists of sucking up to dictators he admires (especially those that have kompromat on him). I sincerely hope I'm not wrong. Trump winning, whilst being a spectacle for the rest of the world, would also be a disaster in so, so many ways.
