I think what some people seem to misunderstand is that funding is the last step.
Nobody agrees to fund a project of this scale without all the necessary consents in place. An issue with the EIS could, for example, add significantly to the costs or viability of the project which would affect a funding decision.
It may be (I’d say almost definite) that Navitas have funding agreements in principle but they will be subject to getting things like the EIS approved.
As such, this is undoubtedly a significant step forward even though it was probably anticipated by shareholders.
