I agree with you MakeSomeMoney.
Wise advice is protect your capital, take profits and “never fall in love with a share”, yet for some reason this has become more than just a standard investment.
Those drilling days were exciting and win or lose it was great fun to be a part of it.
I think for me it’s belief in the North Falkland Basin. I realise the world has turned against hydrocarbons and oil in particular over the past decade but the NFB can, and will, be prolific.
It is my hope that Rockhopper make it to first oil and beyond before being taken out. I’d like to see Isobel in particular appraised in full but there will be so much more as well.
I realise everyone will have their own trading strategies but mine is quite simple now - buy & hold. I’m in for the end game. I’ve effectively written them off so many times anyway and I haven’t waited this long to sell out on an early spike. I first bought at 54p in 2009 which turned out to be a bargain (for a while!). I’m not going to get too excited at 17p given the progress made in recent years - it could push to 20p soon or even drop back to 13p but I don’t really care either way. I’m not selling.
I’m probably mad, but I don’t care. We are finally on the cusp of something enormous and if Navitas can pull this off then I want to be around to see that first drop of oil produced from Sea Lion.
