They were making a big thing about clamping down on illegal mining and the damage they cause to the environment..but trying to educate a million artisinal miners on how to become legitimate small mining companies following rules and regulations and paying taxes is not going to be easy !

The NDC have been empowered by a nation beset by many problems one of which is jobs for the younger generation ..there are probably a possible 1000 when the mine is up and running ..they may want to be seen to be getting better value for Ghana but they also want to create jobs as well..one of their election mantras..I just hope they do not turn out to be such a sh*t show that Labour have ..I mean surely they cannot be that bad but we shall see

I dont think the NDC are against ratification of lithium mining lease but they wanted slightly better terms ..just how much better is what we need to know !!

Think it was intimated that not so much the royalty rate but a sliding scale of tax on prices achieved over a certain level of profit yet to be decided upon

I dont think it is particularly relevant Teddy..even uf Neil had managed to get ratification over the line with the NPP it would have been short lived as the NDC had already flagged up they would rescind the licence and want to renegotiate so we may as well get it done with them now, whatever that may be !!

I think it highly unlikely that they get through all 22 items listed on the agenda given the way they carry on but if they could get to number 6 i think it was at least they can have a chat about Ewoyaa !!

The NDC wanted in addition to the 10% royalty already agreed an additional sliding scale of extra revenue to be paid over and above a to be agreed price for the spodumene..if that were still to be the case then I don't think ratification will be waved through..mire discussion needed !

I thought we had exhausted this point the last time it arose..there are exceptions when a company exceeds the 30% limit that they are not compelled to make an offer for the remaining shares they do not own..a cash raise / placing whereby the significant shareholder exceeds the limit is one !! As I said before it does not mean they cannot make another bid but they do not have to !!

Yes lets hope so ..they are vociferous in their intentions to stop illegal mining which is destroying forests and habitat and polluting waterways which is to be commended but that ultimately causes another poverty problem as there are circa 5 million dependents on it

I would not under play ratification stockcheque..Ghana politics is at an important juncture and hopefully with today's election a smooth transition to normal parliamentary proceedings but after recent shenanigans I am not holding my breath..obviously FID is the determining factor for the project but getting the ruling government on side in the first place is not to be brushed aside so easily..however given that many in Ghana are angry at how illegal mining has been allowed to continue unchallenged and here is a company that has done everything by their own book it would seem incredulous that ratification was not rubber stamped asap..time will tell !!

I am not so sure about green either..I think we remain subdued sp wise until ratification and then the picture may be a little clearer re offtake..i think we missed that little window of opportunity to secure top end of funding with the ratification in the bag but politics worked against us and politicians do not care about those minor details..in the main self interest is all they care about..it is the same the world over.. but we are not dead in the water and come the new year hopefully we start to pick up but in the meantime that water could be choppy !!
