When Koranteng came on as ceo of MIIF the assets under management were circa 180 million US Dollars..at the end of Q1 24 about 1.5 billion dollars so he must have been doing something right and if he has over stepped the mark in these gold trading allegations it looks like the fund can cope with the loss

Emmanuel Buah was one of the main MPs who was very vocal against the ratification..to be fair they did not discuss it because the opposition objected on the basis that there were not enough NPP members to vote..they then had a break in parliamentary business to round up a few more NPP members but they had all gone AWOL

Buah constituency is about 5 hours away from Ewoyaa..close enough to know how important it would be to the locals !

I have to agree there but I guess unless he has resigned there maybe other procedures to go through before any announcement is made

Fwiw I think the new government want to be seen creating new jobs and for a company that has jumped through all of their environmental hoops ALL is in a good position to take this forward..however it is no secret that the new government want to get a bit more flesh and as I have said before I am sure the most fair and equitable way of doing this is to have an extra levy over and above a set price on the sale price of spodumene..that will enable ALL to get stuck in to ordering long lead items and get offtake deal back on track..Hopefully MIIF realize this option leaves plenty of upside and take up the rest of the agreed investment ..if and maybe a slightly cynical view that 18 months / 2 years down the road and just as we could be producing they decide to increase the tax that will be a spanner in the works for a later date but of course they would of got the mine built by then and nothing we could do but suck it up !

Teddy pack it in until we really got something to worry about..if the NDC turn round and say thanks for doing all that exploring and proving up the resource but fu*k you we are taking it off you now then you can have a moan ..and as for the board we need them more than ever to negotiate our way through whatever is thrown at us to get the project back on track !

You are entitled to your view Teddy but I don't think you can place the blame at Nh door entirely..councils , politicians and governments in general seem to make decisions that many cannot comprehend ..we have to watch this unfold or take the hit and sell..personally I think there is still a good project to be had that will reward shareholders although I am obviously hoping that Ghana now in the hands of the NDC do not get too greedy !

Yes as part of the MIIF subscription it entitled them to one non exec director..I guess Koratang will resign now and the new ceo assume that role to look after their interest only on the basis though that they are going to stay invested

I had discounted any further attempts by Assore but thinking about it if they have got the financial clout and think they can make it all work given the new government a hostile takeover at 33 to 35p would probably get a lot of support !

The reason many African countries endowed with rich mineral resources invite foreign companies in to explore is because they neither have the funds or expertise..now all of a sudden they think they can do it themselves !

I think the best possible outcome for us and the simplest is to agree a payment over and above a certain price achieved for the spodumene .. win win for all then..we know we will be profitable and Ghana gets a little more than the current agreement. Be too greedy and they could miss the boat entirely although I honestly do not think as individuals they care about that ..I think they are blissfully unaware of the benefits it could bring
