I feel that there will have to be on-going development of any new products given the speed to market. Realistically we are only 3-4 months into development and the market is incredibly sensitive and impatient for a product in case they ‘miss the boat’. This virus is going to cause disruption and chaos for some time yet. Just look at the economy and the volatility in the markets.... there will be no v shaped recovery it will be more like a Nike swoosh drawn by a 3 year old.

I feel like an Awacta BB buzz phrase bingo board coming on....

You will always get rampers and derampers making what they will of something like this. Regardless, was it planned well given the market sensitivity? Academic types in a 'seminar' with the working title of 'problems and what support is there to covercome' was perhaps not the best way to go. I'm sure they were trying to indirectly provide confidence and an 'update' and I'm sure that from an academic point of view it was meant to be positive (as someone mentioned they like to discuss the struggles they have had along the way etc). However the average investor might not appreciate that, and that might be where some better PR advice might not go amiss. I personally don't think it was intended for the investors, but it was naive to think it wouldn't be hijacked. To look at this another way - what academic would go through all that to discuss the struggles, if there wasn't a solution. Sorry if that is a ramp. It is just illogical from any point of view I can think of.

And that was probably the intention - and here is why it has been so difficult... but we can do it! But they could have been more prepared from a media perception point of view.

So the title of the seminar was a bit of a clue wasn't it? It was about the challenges. They can't talk about price sensitive information and have sent some people (probably totally ill-equipped by nature to be 'political' or sales pitch guys) to have a discussion about the challenges to date. Not a great move on the surface you'd think, but if you think about the issues so far with the funding and perceived delay is this not a mere explanation of the situation? It has been tough and there have been challenges but 'We can do it'... and we will bring this to market are both huge confidence boosters. AIM investors/traders WANT it NOW... actually they want it yesterday, but today will do. Derampers will make what they want of it. Rampers the same. I'm not sure this actually takes us in any direction of knowing more than we did at 8pm.

DOH85 - totally get your point. You can't trust any keyboard and alterior motives, regardless of how subtle. The problem here is that anyone can join these boards with little or no experience of AIM. I said before it is the wild west of share gambling - and that is not to say that some shares aren't gambling. The ramping and deramping is absolutely rife (as you are pointing out) but there are those that are naive and might be risking a lot more than the average person here. I worked in a company and a colleague invested in shares with the company (they had been on a high of £10 and had pulled back to £5 something.) He had a spreadsheet that he would update daily with the share price - his retirement plan was based on the share price getting up to £12. That share price is currently trading at under 33p and IS in FTSE100. So all eggs in any single basket is not good investment. Regardless of how much one might believe in any ONE particular company, if you are risking more than you are prepared to lose, then worry for your mental health. The criminal rampers and derampers don't give a **** about that - so your own research is critical to protect your 'coin'. Don't get emotional over a share - unfortunately I suspect we all forget that at some point and kick ourselves later.

Interesting point about corrupt FDA. To some degree the entire US government and its officials are run by lobbyists. If someone/some big company doesn't want your product on the market then you are going to have trouble. Land of the Free and home of the brave? Not so free and more stupid than brave given the current elected POTUS. Having said that many prior POTUS's over the last 5-6 decades have been not much worse, just less obvious.

Hey Adam - Your post which seemed really genuine and gave me a huge red flag. I am in no position to give financial advice - but just wanted you to consider the risks should AVCT not produce the kind of results you are looking for. It kind of sounds like you have lost a lot in your pension and perhaps have little scope to put more in before retirement? My partner and I have a lot riding on AVCT - circa 50k shares at a avg buy in of 162p (I've been 'in' since 60p but really got suckered with some spare cash between 190 and 205). However, this only represents about 12-15% of our total pool across SIPP and ISA and share trading account. The rest is in larger FTSE and US stocks and about 8% cash. and maybe 12% in funds - I will feel quite ill if this all goes south, but our spread overall should give positive results over the longer term.

If Avct is the ONLY share in your portfolio - as someone said before - that is all your eggs in one basket. It does kind of feel like you are putting the rest of your pension all on black... maybe consider spreading it out. Our pension lost about 30% in the March crashes, but I would expect to recover that in a few years. In the meantime we have been fortunate to have had some cash to invest in the meantime. Good Luck and please don't base your decisions on rampers or derampers. There are some really horrible individuals here and elsewhere. I've made some mistakes and fortunately I can chalk it up to a training fee... but not everyone is able to do that. Do your own research a necessity - and AIM stocks are the wild west of stock gambling. So do take what you read on boards with a pinch of salt and do that research!
