I think it is very unbalanced in terms of risk assessment if you choose to look at one piece of science and ignore the rest (particularly the majority). I think the jury is still out scientifically about a number of aspects of Covid, and arguing that wearing a mask is a risk to everyone's health along with spouting conspiracy theories about Big Pharma (as this individual did) and in the case of masks I guess Big Cotton is operating on less that full pack of crayons. This particular person was trying to tell me that PCR tests were dangerous. My point for this thread is that people like this will also refuse an LFT test, and personally I see that as dangerous. If a simple LFT can prevent 9.5/10 infectious people from spreading the virus, we can reopen the economy and NHS and improve everyone's mental and physical health. Those that still get sick would look to therapeutics to reduce impact on severity and death rates.

So the number of people (albeit small % but very vocal) that won’t wear masks and find articles on the internet to justify their views are generally unbalanced individuals or at least unbalanced in their assessment of risk. This guy is dangerous as it will only gives these sorts false justifications to not be tested. Had a local on FB group (yes I was sucked into debate).... she insisted masks were bad for your health and the economy was more important. I had called anti maskers selfish and wearing a mask allowed us to get on with life /economy for now and she responded that she had Lyme disease and needed to breathe and she posted an article on the internet that said masks were endangering health. I found an article that talked about case studies that showed Lyme disease could lead to mental health issues such as paranoia and schizophrenia etc. I then followed up with an article about how the internet has made us crazy for at least 16 years. I somewhat feel I kind of trolled her but man she was as a dog with a bone (and no mask).

Shortage of swabs and other diagnostic products- minimal/no impact to Avacta and will take 2 weeks to resolve. Main issue is for those that need non covid testing. Non urgent testing is being de prioritised

So in the 28th Sep presentation, I believe AS specifically said that the nitrocellulose would not? be a problem in producing the test, nor would the Affimers. Anyone else recall to confirm? Could it be that they have already secured the supply for x million etc...?

May I suggest you get a sense of humour injection? Appreciate these boards are at times like a football match, but really if you take every word (good and bad) seriously and without research you would be in trouble... the trick with these BB's is to take everything with a pinch of salt and DYOR.

Very exciting but could it be that it doesn’t warrant an RNS due to the evaluation purposes statement in the data sheet? Obviously approvals for diagnostics must be pending and it gives us more chance to load up... assuming MM’s aren’t reading the BB.... hmmmm???? I picked up 10k shares yesterday still a bit more to put in the price does stay this stupidly low.

I think MB's comment acout the market being comfortable with this presentation elliminates risk and might actually lead to a much stronger support lines, which in fact will bring in a lot of new LTH investors in. I think it has been a brilliant presentation and well done to all at Avacta - obviously a very challenging time with the social distancing and difficulties in obtaining samples. Clearly this must have been a reason why LSTM has been used rather than Condor - a plus not a negative as some have suggested.

I struggled to get quotes to sell - so didn't... did get another £2k at 145. See what the presentation brings...

So samples will be plentiful in Q4 so that will help speed up everything for sure. I’ve read rumours of a 4 week lockdown over Xmas - a launch in January would be massive. Even with cases reducing in the future there will still be a required for frequent testing to stop virus flare ups...for many years I expect. Don’t forget other opportunities for other viruses as well!

interesting that the SKIN RNS appears the morning of a presentation. It makes you wonder if Avacta will be providing an RNS on Monday morning. Feels like a strong possibility!

Long discussion yesterday on this - correct me if I’m wrong anywhere here ... no one knows how much stock mm’s have. If they have over bought or over sold they have I think 30 days to balance their books. I could just be a rebalancing day and the ratio of buys to sells is never knowN as the buy or sell flag is an estimate based on the spread which in turn is an LSE algorithm that can lag behind so buys appear as sells and vice versa. Until the share can move onto another trading system for higher volume trading it would appear that mm’s have a monopoly on the spread and reasons for it going up and down will be not be fully understood.
