It's just another phrase in a long list of meaningless terms concocted by right-wing nutjobs to demonize anyone that disagrees with their hateful views. First it was "liberal snowflakes" then "the woke brigade".

Its the sort of rhetoric from "I'm not ******/homophobic BUT..." types, you know, usually the affluent white folk that really don't know what persecution actually is. The types on the fascist end of things who believe they have a right to be heard, no matter what hateful crap they come out with.

Motley Fool is just a clickbait website. They have articles catering to every opinion to get the most follow-through clicks that validate people's opinion. It all equals more ad revenue for them.

Their articles are usually just copy/pasted as well, with company names usually being the only difference across vast swathes of articles.

A completely useless site that far too many people give credence to.

Please get out in the world and meet some real people and you might find the vast majority of the population are civil, decent, pleasant and (gasp) liberal. It's sad you live in a world where you think decentness and equality doesn't exist, but then again the internet is full of lonely men with no community around them in real life to keep them sane.

Anyway, in the spirit of keeping this forum focussed on Lloyds chat (and not pandering to idiots) I'll stop with the discussion. Much like LTI you seem to do little else than be a contrarian troll that contributes little other than winding folk up for the sake of it. Filtered.

That's a link to a political party, nothing to do with liberalism as a moral philosophy. The "Liberal Party" in Australia, for example, are a right-wing party.

I mean this is meant to be a Lloyds discussion forum, not a moral philosophy class. Liberals (such as myself) broadly stand for equality (across genders, sexuality, races etc), civil rights, democracy, secularism, freedom of Press, environmental awareness...among lots of other things.

Lloyds isn't even near hitting pre-pandemic levels yet, while JP Morgan is above it. Over 24 months JP is up 8% while Lloyds is down 9%.

Point being, if you cherry pick data you can make it say whatever you want. That said, considering rising inflation and a good profits, Lloyds still sitting in a good place right now.

It's amazing how some people just don't get it. It's not about having a party, it's not about wallpaper, it's about constant lying eroding public confidence in the government's ability to govern.

You can't have one set of rules for the elite and another set of rules for the plebs. If the government forces people to abide by laws, they MUST follow them. We should hold them to a higher standard than we do ourselves. They are in positions of great power.

How can anyone be expected to follow rules when the government themselves don't? It's a public health issue at that point.

Most people are sick of being lied to be a government that seems incapable of truth, integrity or even decency. Normalizing corruption invites more of it. Shame on anyone that defends them.

The headline is misleading, it suggests one in three people with covid could have got it in the hospital, while the quoted article suggests that one in three people CURRENTLY in hospital could POSSIBLY have caught it there. Its pretty much a meaningless and unverifiable "stat" used as an straw-man argument. There are still hundreds of thousands of people with covid that aren't in hospital, hospital numbers are remaining low thanks to the high vaccination rates.

I really wish people wouldn't get their puff opinion pieces from a right-wing, proto-fascist, anti-vaxxer website like The Daily Skeptic and present it as fact. Masks do prevent the spread of covid, there have been numerous studies done since the beginning of covid two years ago showing it to be one of the easiest and most effective methods at preventing the spread of this disease.

Honestly they are all complete children. It's pathetic and sad. Pages and pages of a few posters just going back and forth with each other. Impossible to find any actual discussion on this share because the man-children can do nothing but bicker with each other. I can't stress enough how sad it is.

Absolutely effing amazing that people on a financial forum don't understand basic supply and demand. Doctors are paid the amount they are paid because they are a scarce resource. But putting that aside there are a few things worth noting:

Doctors need to train far longer and under far more strenuous conditions than just about any job that pays a similar amount - and for good reason, they can literally kill someone if they make a slight error. These are people that work 50+ hour workweeks, for comparatively low pay, until they are able to fulfill more senior, better paying roles.

They work extreme hours in a generally thankless role, and then IF they are lucky, they work in a high stress environment, with better pay. Not amazing pay, but just better. A select few exceptional people might become wealthy.

That's about the sum of it.

Anyone thinking doctors "have it easy" or are "overpaid" are, quite frankly, out of touch. And to say that at the tail end of a pandemic, when these people have been working tirelessly to save your friends, family and community members, is nothing short of disgusting.

Putting financial discussions aside, anyone here degrading the contributions of doctors is, to put it bluntly, a complete moron.
