Doesn't mean the current price will be a good indicator longer term. But right now, we are where we are. There are major opportunities. But also significant risks still (even Bo & David alluded to them more than once in their latest joint presentation).

Weighing up all the buyers & sellers, Mr Market says the current fair price is Bid 19p, Ask 20p. Whether you like it/agree with it or not.

Sure, it may go up initially. Who knows. But then, so did Lucy. And Microsalt. And Bell. Yet none has exactly stood the test of time.

Joseywales - I agree about the shorts comment, but don't think it's that surprising how IQE's SP is performing day to day ATM.

When markets are down & jittery, IQE normallly does badly. When IQE's sector partners announce good results, IQE tends to do the opposite, so it still does badly.

Only when IQE announces some major new win(s) - with tangible numbers behind them - is this pattern of bobbing around, then drifting lower likely to be broken IMHO.

I was surprised when we moved significantly above the late teens back in April, as it seemed to be on the back of hope rather than any substance (given FY23's results). Now we know this was the case, I can't see much to support even this current SP until we get some major upbeat news.

Oh, and by the way, at the time of writing you're no longer up 28% in your fantasy share league, as the SP has slipped once again.

Never mind, you just carry on buying this wondershare, Lordhelpus.

Who knows.

One thing we can be pretty sure of is if war in the Middle East intensifies & spreads, all bets are off when it comes to most shares.

Martinu - you may be right, but I don't think you can safely draw that conclusion.

It could be that as of 27 Sept, sales & confirmed orders exceeded £644K by MORE than they did on 20th Aug.

But there's an easy way Opti could clear up any confusion. By issuing actual sales figures (splitting out sales & confirmed orders if there are timing issues between the two in terms of when they'll hit the accounts).

Instead, they talk in riddles all the time. Almost as if there's something they're trying to hide. Surely not!

There was very little positive in this update, with the possible exception of the post-period orders.

And the market’s given it a thumbs down.

If that IC article’s by Simon Thompson, he’s been championing TEK for years. Saying it’s a Buy at prices many multiples of today’s.

So, like the company’s strategy, he needs a total rethink to avoid looking even more stupid than he already does.

Couerdelion - as a shareholder, frankly I couldn’t care less whether the strategic vision looks sensible.

My only interest js in whether the company actually generates some decent shareholder returns. And to date it has utterly failed in this, so its strategy needs to change completely.

Couerdelin - I totally disagree with your comment that "the business strategy is fine".

In recent years, the business strategy has decimated Tek's shareholder value. What part of that is fine?

Most of that RNS reads like some dusty academic research paper.

And the part which doesn't could have been written by Opti several years ago. I get that major commercial partnerships often take time to cultivate. But we've only a certain amount of time on this earth Stephen. Pull your XXXXing finger out.

Sadly, barring some significant new contract wins, this looks ever more likely to revisit its IPO price.

And that’s with its major shareholder (Tek) currently still locked in.

Yet again, it appears Tek has held on for greater riches post-IPO, only to see its stake become ever less valuable.

Mol42 - if you hadn't date-stamped those announcements, you could shuffle them, read them out in any order & they'd still sound like a logical sequence.

Presumably the penny will eventually drop with SOH that you can't keep recycling the same old news & expect investors to remain excited.
