David’s interview last week said wireline results “perhaps early next week”.

The trouble with this is that people then totally ignore the word “perhaps” & assume it’ll definitely be early this week (which to most would mean by Tuesday).

As others have pointed out, if there’s subsequently any slippage in timescales, this could easily be interpreted (possibly incorrectly) as bad news.

Whilst I’m all for regular comms & updates, putting too precise a timing on unpredictable things risks making you a hostage to fortune & undermining the very transparency you’re trying to create.

IMHO David would have been better off saying “perhaps sometime next week” or “shortly”, thereby tempering expectations & providing a bit more wiggle room.

Andypaps - trading prices over the last few minutes today followed a similar pattern to yesterday (I know because I added yesterday at 19.7p @ 4.26pm, only to see the price drop even further into the close!).

This share's so volatile currently - especially at the open & the close. So IMHO you can't read too much into it either way just now.

Andypaps - I really think you overestimate the power any one BB poster could have over the share price.

Particularly when they're so obviously spouting random garbage.

I almost sold half my holding this pm to average down (having added yesterday, sub-20p). In the end though I decided to hold off. I guess next week will provide an initial clue as to whether this was the right decision!

Trek - for some reason, that Aug TR-1 isn't listed on LSE. But it IS shown on the following London Stock Exchange page:

Oberon crossed the threshold from 10.694% to 8.71% on 8 August, but the issuer was only notified on 13 August & TR-1 RNS'd that same day (i.e. 5 days later incl. the weekend).

It's pointless spouting guesses on what the SP could be if commerciality is announced when A) it hasn't been announced yet & B) you've no more idea than anyone else how much the SP would go up even if it was RNS'd.

TheWigster - as I said earlier this month, I'm quite surprised the share price has remained as strong.

The commercial update was decent, but not game-changing. Only SweetBiotix - and a confirmed commercial partnership + high initial order from DSM-Firmenich - can really do that.

Butch123 - TR-1s are the only way we'll eventually know whether a big seller has reduced enough to trigger an announcement. Or whether loads of smaller sellers are behind it.

Ihavenoclue - we don't actually know it's Oberon reducing further.

They've been accused many times before, but until a TR-1 is released, it could be anyone. Either loads of smaller sellers or mainly one big seller.

My gut feel is that Oberon might want to halve their stake at double their entry price, leaving the rest as a free ride.

That's purely a hunch, but if correct they'll be issuing at least one further TR-1 before they're done. Probably more than one in fact, as they seem to like doing it in stages.

Ihavenoclue - if you're right (which I believe you are largely there), what does that tell you about investor confidence?

RNS released, large seller digests it & decides to reduce.

It coud just be they see it's going to take several more weeks before the definitive business case is known. And they'd rather take some money off the table now (at a profit), rather than wait & risk things going the wrong way.

Ollycromwell - the most logical explanation would be that the reported buys v sells figure is inaccurate.

It's notoriously random for most shares, particularly when a trade concludes at roughly the mid price.

Why would the price go down if buys really exceeded sells? Basic supply & demand economics tells you that can't possibly be the case.

Olderandwiser - you (like many others on here) assume wrong in that case.

Funny how the assumption is always that anything negative indicates a shorter at work.

Some holders are just realists, who still believe there's a decent chance of success, but aren't blinded to the risk by all the uber-optimistic hypesters.

FWIW, I bought in several weeks ago at just under 18.7p and have neither sold, added or shorted to date.

Olderandwiser - if it's the"myriad uninformed UK PIs" who are causing the SP to drop today, why aren't the "informed UK PIs" like your good self sending the price back up again as they load their trucks?

Djm1 - it WAS a genuine question and I'm grateful to MasksNewNorm for addressing it (unlike some others on here who seem content just to whistle in the wind & say everything's fine whilst the share price continues to drop).

Dallo - IMM went up from 0.85p in early March to over 2p at recent peak. That was largely on the basis that no immediate funding (via a placing) would be needed.

I guess it's now floating back down to earth on the basis we've had no update on any trial timeframe. Which might sow the seeds of doubt in some investors' minds that there could be a hitch.

Major-Tom - that may all be right.

But I'm still puzzled how you'd then be able to measure the hydrogen %, yet not the helium.
