The development with IntelliSmart being awarded with a 6.7 million smart meter order, in Uttar Pradesh, hopefully will prove to be another turning point for CyanConnode.

A report published on Smart Energy International, on Friday 28th April, 2023, in relation to the recently announced IntelliSmart order for 6.7 million prepaid smart meters, in West Uttar Pradesh.

From the report:-

" Speaking on the announcement, Anil Rawal, the company's managing director and CEO, said, " We are cognizant that, being the largest of the smart metering projects tendered this far in the country, its timely delivery will be the benchmark for the success of the RDSS programme.

" This becomes our second smart metering project after Assam. At this juncture, when smart meter tenders are being rolled out by the states, this win reinforces the sector's confidence in the capabilities of IntelliSmart to deliver large projects while ensuring cost advantages essential for the improvement of the operational and financial efficiency of the discoms."

Let us hope that John, Heather and Ratna were in the right place, at the right time.

Good morning tonyj,

I seem to remember that a $20 figure, per module, had been guestimated in the passed, but multibagger has used a £ figure for the potential unit price, for this exercise.

$20 works out, at the exchange rate that is available today, to £15.97 per module. So using a £14 per module estimate, giving an approximate 12% discount for a volume order, seems to be in the right ball-park, for me.

I notice that multibagger, on ADVFN, mentioned about " Some potential contract values .... " which I posted on Saturday. The emphasis being on " .... potential ... "

So over time, we will have to see wait to see what potential CyanConnode really has.

An interesting observation this morning by multibagger, on ADVFN, accompanied by some potential calculations for the Uttar Pradesh smart meter contract mentioned recently.

From multibaggers post:-

" Some information for potential new visitors to our BB.

" Potential contract values for CYAN if the UP/IntelliSmart 6.7m RDSS award trickles down to us ( which is highly probable.)

" This news could be RNSed in the next few weeks given it has been reported in the Indian mainstream and social media as early as 13th April 2023....

" Based on varying smart meter volumes that we could end up with: for eg:

" 1m smart meters = £14m over 10 years with 60% / £8.4m in the first 2 years.
" 2m = £28m / 16.8m
" 3m = £42m / 25.2m
" 4m = £56m / 33.6m
" 5m = £70m / 42m

" To put things in perspective, our expected annual revenue till end of Mar 2023 is expected to be £12.23m or therabouts ( Hardman Research 21 March 2023 )

" CYAN current market cap is about £47.5m."

On a personal note, the end figures will depend on any discount that is negotiated into this and other contracts that are awarded, to CyanConnode and Partners, in particular, as well as any currency fluctuations that occure during the period of the contract and will need to be factured into the final figure.

According to the Eastern Herald newspaper report, that you posted, the news only hit the headlines today, 27th April, 2023. So it may be sometime yet, as we know, for news to filter down to the sub-contractors, from the Company that has been issued with the order.

So we have to wait, to see what happens.

From the report:-

" Tata Power and Enel Group will deploy two pilot projects for India's distribution network: one on smart metering and another on digitalisation and automation."

Further down within the report:-

" The first pilot will focus on accelerating digitalisation and automation of secondary substations and see Tata Power joining the international co-creation programme of Gridpertise's QEd - Quantum Edge Device.

" The programme aims to visualise grid functionalities and protection and control, automation, real-time fault detection and service restoration of the network.

" The other project is aimed at deploying Gridpertises' metering technology on a pilot basis in the Delhi power distribution network.

" It focuses on testing and evaluating new hybrid smart metering technology featuring a dual communication channel, via hybrid Power Line Communication (PLC ) and Radio Frequency ( RF )."

But only at the Pilot stage, at the moment. But still interesting, non-the-less.

It is good to know that the Indian Smart Meter projects in Bihar, are progressing.

Good afternoon all,

As I/we understand it, there are circa 173 million smart meters that have been sanctioned or at various stages of the tendering/award process.

With this in mind, I would suggest from yesterday's announcement, that CyanConnode are being pro-active in their efforts to attract the appropriate personnel with the appropriate skills sets, to join the Company, for what we hope will be a long and beneficial career for them.

Let us hope so.

A good start to the trading day so far today, on recognition, in my view, of the announcement yesterday from CyanConnode India, about the potential increase in personnel.

The order intake anticipation, must have greatly increased recently, to justify this amount of investment in personnel in the Indian business.

The extensive foundations of CyanConnode in India, seem to be coming to completion. We should see, in the near future, the visible fruits of the Company's efforts, as the further CyanConnode building blocks are put into place.
