Personally, I do not think that CyanConnode would substantially increase their staff levels, with all the increase in costs, if they were not confident that the outlay would be covered, in one way or another, over time.

But only in my opinion, of course.

As we are aware, everything takes time and India is no exception. When Cyan(Connode) first started in India, Cellular was probably the main technology. The Cellular lobby is still very powerful in India. You only have to remember the early, multi-million smart meter tenders, as they were known, to realize that.

So over the years, CyanConnode have developed their RF Technology, to address this market. And I feel that they are " ....... competing in that group ....... " with every tender they win.

From the report:-

" The new Omnimesh Cellular products deliver secure end-to-end communication across both public and private carrier networks. To meet a range of market requirements, the products are available in all cellular regions and bands and support all the 2G, 3G, 4G and emerging 5G standards, including NB-IoT and Cat-M1 IoT Cellular technologies."

These products were launched during March, 2020. So the " Competition " was well known and being planned for, even then.

Sorry I missed you yesterday, but I have had a chance to re-cap on the posts that you mentioned, with some relevant information included in your posts. So I thank you for that.

To add a little more to the " Competition " discussion that Vas and yourself have mentioned and which I gave an opinion on yesterday, it is not neccessarily the " ..... companies ...... " directly, that are CyanConnode's direct competitors, as I view it, it is the technology that the various companies provide.

The REC Empanelment List, periodically updated, highlights 2 main types of communications technology, that is recognised/used for the smart meter delivery in India, at the moment. Namely Cellular and RF.

So we have 2 main technologies that are competing for the smart meter roll-out, which includes, at the moment, 42 companies, that have qualified onto the REC Empanelment List, that can deliver the smart meter roll-out, using the 2 main communications technologies of Cellular and RF.

The breakdown of Technology mixes provided on the REC Empanelment List is:-

Number of Companies:-

- Cellular and RF provision = 14

- Cellular provision only = 23

- RF provision only = 5

- Total = 42 Companies.

So with the often mentioned circa 75%/25% split, in favour of Cellular, at the moment, then the provision of Cellular would seem to be the main competition, I feel.

Along with the Companies that provide the Cellular solution and the Companies that provide RF, that are not aligned with CyanConnode, at the moment.

So circa 75% is being awarded to an alternative solution/suppliers(s), at the moment.

In answer to your question about competition, CyanConnode have been awarded circa 20%/25% of the installed smart meter base, in India, at the moment. So 75%/80% of the installed smart meter base in India, is going to an alternative solution/supplier(s).

You can pick out the Companies that are on CyanConnodes Partner List and those that are on the REC Empanelment List and which have Cellular and which have RF, from the Empanelment List.

But realistically, with 75%/80% of smart meter orders still being awarded to " ... the competition ..... " there is still an additional market that needs to be worked on, over time.

But from where CyanConnode were 3/4 years ago, over the last couple of years or so, they have advanced quite substantially. In my opinion.

Every chance I would think. How big a chance will depend on how big the RF requirement is for this particular HPL order. But HPL are on the CyanConnode Partners list and HPL have also qualified for the REC Empanelment list, so they have reached the right criteria for that process.

But interesting times ahead, I feel Vas. Especially with the news coming this morning about a further requirement from Solid State Supplies for a follow-on order from CyanConnode for $10.7m.

That equates to a reasonable, future order value(s) for CyanConnode, over the next 18 month's, in my opinion.

Hasn't Paul Gough just reduced his Holding from 3.75% to 2.65% leaving a remaining Holding in CyanConnode of 7,210,334, at time of notification, as stated on the TR1 form?

John Cronin, Executive Chairman of CyanConnode, added:-

" We are pleased to be placing this additional order with Solid State Supplies to support our long-term Indian smart metering programme. They have provided us with the reassurance of supply where component shortages have proved one of the greatest challenges in delivering for customers at a time when the smart metering market is growing at pace."

It must bode well for the future, one would think.

" Solid State plc ( AIM: SOLI ), the specialist value added component supplier and design-in manufacturer of computing, power and communications products, is pleased to announce a $10.7m follow-on order for radio frequency components from its customer CyanConnode, through its Components division, Solid State Supplies Ltd."

Further into the RNS:-

" This order follows an initial $2.1m order announced in January 2022. Solid State's products will continue to enable the roll-out of CyanConnode's smart metering technology in India.

" The order is expected to be delivered within the next 18 months."

I think the poster you are referring to is/was " Confusion," if my memory hasn't totally deserted me But the share price continued to rise today, even after the Paul Gough announcement. So all in all, a good day/weeks trading, so far. We will have to see what happens tomorrow.

But there may be many reasons for a " Sell " at any given time. By individuals or Companies/Institutions.

It has happened before and no doubt it will happen in the future.

In answer to your question, there are 8 tenders that I can see, that have a " Last submission date " of 24/04/2023. Unless there has been any issues, as sometimes happens and has happened recently with at least one tender and that tender has to start the process from the beginning, then if there is no Press coverage to say different, I take it that the tender has progressed to the final stages of award.

Namely, awarded to the main/principle contractor, then the awards to the sub-contractors.

It all takes time, but once they start the roll-out in proper, then as investors we should be able to see the progress, more clearly.

Good to hear from you again, Vas. Certanly, IntelliSmart looks to be an interesting proposition and your appraisal of CyanConnode's position within the IntelliSmart tender process is what we are all looking forward to. So hears hoping.

And there are many more tenders that are waitng to be publically awarded/to filter down, to the appropriate sub-contractors, so something else to hopefully look forward too.

Could be a very interesting period in CyanConnode's development.

CyanConnode and Partners have, over a 5/6 month period, from August 2022 ( Genus for Bihar ) to January 2023 ( Montecarlo for Madhya Pradesh ) been awarded 2 contracts of circa 1 million Omnimesh modules each.

So I am optimistically looking for CyanConnode and Partners next order(s) to be close to this range or above, would certainly be progress.

But realistically, as always, we will have to wait and see what happens.
