It could be the Telefonica/Toshiba/CyanConnode connection/experience, is now being deployed in India and may open up other global opportunities in other markets.

The licensing part of the business, we hope will provide an integral part of the revenue infrastructure for the Company, over the coming years.

And with the contract CyanConnode are carrying out with Telefonica and Toshiba, it will be interesting to see if there are other telecommunications companies that can work with CyanConnode.

But it is approximately six years since the UK smart meter contracts were issued and we are only now waiting to see when the revenue contribution will/should start.

So, still opportunities to be had and created, globally.

What is re-assuring to have confirmed, is that smart meter tender opportunities are still available, in Bangladesh. Despite any political situation.

What CyanConnode investors need, is the confirmation of the order implementation of the orders in Bangladesh, India and elsewhere. It is apparent from information from the beginning of 2018 and from what Vas has provided over the weekend, that there could be additional opportunities available, in Bangladesh.

But as I think you are eluding too, the licensing of the CyanConnode solution, may be another option being considered, in/for regions generally.

But we have only seen evidence of that, from Beijing Instruments, as yet. Whether we will be told about what countries/territories Beijing Instruments export too, with CyanConnodes products, I do not know.

But it could be a global distribution agreement, so they could pop up anywhere.

The February 2019 Newsletter, tells us that:- " The RF Modules will be incorporated into Beijing Instruments' next -generation smart meters, which will offer an IPv6 standards-based solution, for international markets."

The Newsletter also goes on to tell us that:- " The Licensing Agreement was a milestone for CyanConnode, resulting in a strong partnership, that will present opportunities for the commercial rollout of CyanConnode's technology, in new territories."

So the Beijing Instruments link, may not only be to the Chinese smart meter market.

There were two tenders for smart pre-payment meters, for Bangladesh, originally promoted by the UK Department for International Trade, at the beginning of 2018.

One with a closing date of 5th February, 2018, with no number of meters mentioned:-

These, could be the same tender, with the 5th March 2018 tender, superceding the 5th February 2018 tender.

What you have come across Vas, is an International Competitive Tender, with an initial requirement for 100,000 smart meters ( Similar to the updated/later provisional March 2018 tender posted ) but with a much larger overall potential mentioned, of 850,000.

A bit of information from the CyanConnode UK SMIP webpage:-

" A close collaborative partnership, between CyanConnode, Telefonica and Toshiba, resulted in a solution for second generation smart meters ( SMET2 ) to overcome network challenges to ensure a smart meter remains " smart." Telefonica, ( appointed as the preferred SMIP communications provider for two thirds of the UK,) promoted CyanConnodes Radio Frequency ( RF ) Machine-to-Machine ( M2M ) technology, to extend the reach of its existing mobile ( cellular ) network, into locations where cellular signal was not available. ( Not-spots.) "

" Embedding CyanConnodes technology into the Toshiba SMETS2 Telefonica Communications Hub, has enabled smart meters to be located in " not-spots." Anthony Shaw, Telefonica UK Smart Metering Director said, " CyanConnode is one of the very few suppliers globally, that has the experience and leading-edge technology, to support smart meter deployment, where there is no cellular coverage."

If the Toshiba/Telefonica Communications Hub has been certified and CyanConnodes solutions are in the Hub, you might conclude that the CyanConnode solution, inside the certified Hub, was also certified?

I can think of more effective ways of not letting anyone know.

CyanConnode, as you say, received the Global Smart Meter Company of the Year award, during March 2019. But that was the award announced by CyanConnode, during November 2018, received from Frost & Sullivan.

Apparently, Frost & Sullivan announce the winners and after a few month's, give out the awards.

But it is good to be reminded.

....... in India, has two tenders submitted, one for Jammu City and Srinagar City, for 2 Lakh consumers total ( 2 x 100,000 consumers ) and another for different areas of Jammu and Kashmir, for 9.25 Lakh consumers total ( 925,000 consumers.)

Both these tenders have been re-submitted from October 2018. Both tenders are now for AMI.
