As I have said before, how many smart meters CyanConnode can tender for, will depend on how much of an RF requirement there is, within any given tender. And even then CyanConnode have to win it. The percentage may drop on occassions, but as long as CyanConnode have a reasonable average, that is fine. But I am sure that CyanConnode will want to keep it as high as possible.

What new Company alliances will/could be formed within this and future tenders, is one of the great unknowns.

The tender for BSES in Delhi, may be different solutions, for different areas of the city, which may have different budgets and requirements. The tender could be split into several different " mini-tenders " ( my observation ) that may accomodate these requirements.

..... orders that often get a mention on this bb, have always been higher for non-RF solutions in India. And probably globally, also. But at the moment we are told that CyanConnode have approximately 20% of the installed electric smart meter base in India. Which is more than the 2% - 3% often suggested on this bb, that CyanConnode would achieve.

So with the percentage requirement for non-RF solutions in India, being higher than the requirement for RF solutions in India, the volume order and installations will also be higher, when you have an 80%/20% ratio, in favour of non-RF solutions.

Genuinely interested to know what delivery solutions are being provided for non-RF smart meter installations - be it GPRS/Cellular/PLC/Solar or alternative RF solutions? Unless I have missed them.

Whatever consortium wins/has won, the tender.

Good afternoon all,

On the 14th July, 2022, under " EDF are smashing it " we were informed that " The current monthly run-rate is well over 100k, next time we visit it the number could well be 2 or 300,000 monthly."

On Friday 29th July, 2022, we were informed that EDF had installed 100k smart meters in 35 days. Averaging that out at 30.5 days per month = 87,000+ installed smart meters. Say 90,000.

A 100k smart meter installs in 35 days, does not equate to 100,000 installs a month, as stated at 13:48 today. And it does not mean that 100,000 will be achieved every month. But I am sure EDF are working on it.

EDF are successfully installing smart meters in India. Just like various other companies are in India, also.

As I mentioned last week, when Cyan ( originally ) first started to embrace the India smart meter market, there was no, or very little, RF mesh connected to smart meters. So from a relatively standing start, to get the RF penetration of 20%+ of the installed electric smart meter base, to date, is a significant achievement, as far as I am concerned.

We are aware of EESL's preference, during and after 2017/18 and the reason's they gave for it. We are also aware of the outcome.

It took some time to get IntelliSmart and the NIIF involved, along with EESL, but there is a new " business model " that has been formed to facilitate the ongoing India Smart Meter programme, overall.

The original Smart Meter Pilot Projects in India, were, in my opinion, Cyan's proving ground. With the early projects for Tata Power, in Mumbai and CESC in Mysore, both IPv4 projects. But the successes for CyanConnode that followed, in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Indore, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh and Assam, were all successful IPv6 projects and all outside the Empanelment Process.

These, I feel, will put CyanConnode and Partners, hopefully, in a good position going forward, for future projects.

Sorry for the delay in replying. Your comment " More would have been installed if Smart Comms were at current development stage ........ "is in my opinion, correct. But they weren't and the rest is history.

Which brings us back to the ongoing Empanelment Process, of sorting out the qualifying solutions, to fit the appropriate tenders, at a competitive price, with the manufacturers and Partners that will deliver the projects.

In answer specifically to the 18:39 post, I do not recall any other contracts/tenders that have " stalled," as you put it, being referred to as " lodged," since the TNEB tender, during 2013.

It was never explained fully what the term " lodged " actually ment, other than it " .... effectively means the procurement process has been suspended."

John Cronin went on to comment:-

" We remain highly confident of our competitive position at TNEB and our ability to provide TNEB and its suppliers with the technology required. We understand that the " lodging " of the tender has nothing to do with Cyan's technology and therefore we remain confident that we will win a significant portion of the business to be generated from the large scale roll out of smart meters in Tamil Nadu, regardless of the outcome of the current tender process."

This was in July 2013 and in January 2020 John Cronin and CyanConnode started to deliver on that comment with the first order for TANGEDCO and Tamil Nadu.

A significant achievement, I feel.

I cannot say that I have heard that specfically, about Cellular. But India must have had problems with the implementation of the early EESL projects for smart meters/electric meters, that were tendered, pre IntelliSmart, otherwise the Indian states would have installed far more smart meters overall, than they have.

No doubt the Company(s) that, in your opinion, has/are about to achieve the " ...... 100% success rate ..... " consistantly, will be only to pleased to let us all know.

In the meantime, we will just have to make do with CyanConnode's " ...... consistantly high SLAs of >99 per cent ..... " until we are informed otherwise.

It will do for me and possibly a few other share-holders, also.

The report covers various projects that CyanConnode have been involved with and there is a section of a paragraph under " Over 20 Per Cent Market Share " where John Cronin mentions " We take great pride and responsibility for consistently high SLAs of >99 per cent, which are now a base requirement for Prepaid Smart metering and which the Government of India has been pushing for."

....... have often been put forward over the years, but as yet, non have resulted in a " Take-out " of CyanConnode

There was one a couple of years ago, that suggested a price of between 6p - 10p per share would be enough to seal the deal. But not even a re-visit back up to 28p/29p was enough to raise some interest.

But there is still more progress to be made, as far as developing the overall CyanConnode business potential is concerned. In my opinion.
