Some, if not all of these telecommunications companies, you would think, would have been vying for the early, multi-million smart meter contracts, during 2017/2018, as cellular was the preferred option, at the time. So they would be in a position now to progress with their offer for the ongoing rollout of the Smart Meter programme in India.

....... highlights some ongoing tenders, that IntelliSmart are involved with, on page 4, for Assam, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Mizoram, Tripura and West Bengal, that equates to just under 20 million smart meters, that are out for tender, all TOTEX and all have a " Due Date " of before the end of December 2022.

There will no doubt be the customary time lapse, after the due date before the actual tenders are awarded, but hopefully the process will get shorter at some stage.

It is good to know that both the Interim Results, to 30th September, 2022 and the projected Final Results, for the 12 month period ending 31st March, 2023, are both in line with market expectations.

So it seems to suggest that the year on year revenue figure should increase by approximately 30%.

And a Q&A session to look forward to, with John and Heather, on 14th December, 2022, also.

I tend to agree with your sentiment. A Placing for expansion, if it is needed, is far better than a Placing for survival. But we will have to wait and see what the future holds.

It is difficult to say, mcgoof. During the early stages of the India smart meter pilot programme, I recall one contract being placed with the main contractor, but Cyan ( at the time ) were not awarded their contract until about 12 months later.

But IntelliSmart received their order for Assam, during November 2021 and CyanConnode received their first order from IntelliSmart, for Assam, during May 2022. So in the case of Assam, about 6 months.

But with the Empanelment Process initially completed, but ongoing and the new Contracting Framework in place, we may see a shorter timeframe from the time that the main contractor receives the contract award, to when the subcontractors, of which there may be a few, per smart meter contract, receive their contract award.

India does seem to be gaining momentum and keeping up with global developments. But still a long way to go.
