They and Ruffer are investment companies, whilst they may buy a share of a company, they are unlikely to buy it out completely as buying and running companies is not what they do. The fact they have invested is a very good sign, I expect that they have contacts to people who would buy us out. CPX needs to he taken over by a major player, we have World class patents, but we too small to be taken seriously, hence why big players just attempt to steal the tech. We need protection of a much bigger organisation that the Maxwells of this world wouldn't dare cross.

I agree, aim is dying, there's nothing to gain from investing in the market, its just a place to lose money, hence I won't be putting anymore money to anything at all .
The bank is a safer bet and if I really want to gamble to attempt to get more cash there's plenty online gambling apps with better odds than aim.

You have to wonder of AK was standing in the way of something takeover, settlement, or maybe he just has personal issues.
I think him going is very bad, the founder and the brains behind this, who holds the patents, is it him or is it the company. AK leaving is like Musk leaving Tesla, it's the beginning of the end here and how it affects shareholders remains to be seen.

That all said that was a very rapid placing from announcement to conclusion.

There was a holder on here that had 2% of the company at one point that said on here and warned us that he was significantly reducing his holding. I think that's the answer to that question.

These valuations mean nothing.

They will have held these on behalf of a private investor. That private investor will be the seller, not cannacord themselves.

In legal terms it means they have concealed something private within their documents, probably a name or source that backs up their argument, so that they do not need to reveal it to the opposition too early. This will be done so that cpx lawyers at the trial do not have time to check background as thoroughly as they would perhaps like.
This is going to trial, no doubt about it, Maxwell believe they are right, or at least their lawyer thinks they will win.

Was reading up about the judge on wilkapedia. Well worth a read, not a judge to be messed with.

I doubt that there are discussions taking place. I get the impression that this is quite a bitter dispute and that there is a lot of animosity between the parties.

If the Maxwell win the summary judgement then the case is over as the judge will have determined that Maxwell owned the patents not CPX. If that happens then Maxwell could go for us for breaches of their patents and for legal costs, there wouldn't be a road back, CPX would be finished, bankrupt.
However, the chances of that happening are exceptionally slim, we wouldn't this far down the road if it was that clear cut.
They are playing some type of game here, or they are so deluded that they actually believe that they are 100% in the right here.

Realistically it's unlikely that the summary judgement will go in Maxwell favour. This is clearly a very complex case and what Maxwell is saying is that CPX have not given any evidence that supports the case. It actually shows that Maxwell must believe without any doubt that they already in the right side of the law snd in summary judgement they are asking the court to agree with them and end the case. I would say that even if Maxwell were right, there is sufficient evidence in this that dictates that there is doubt, and as such its highly unlikely such a summary judgement will be granted. Given that Maxwell will apply for it on a number of points, it only needs to fail on one for that judgement to fail, and the judge has already made his stance on that known.
I still think that Maxwell are so convinced that they are right that they will carry on to trial.

I do think they will have a bearing, but that will depend if the dispute with Maxwell involves the same Patents as the previous successful disputes. I think they must be different parents or case law would dictate that Maxwell had breached CPX patents, assuming of co**** US law is straightforward, it may not be. Presumably if we lose then this company is finished as we maybe liable for all Maxwells cost, never mind the fact that Royalties maybe due to Maxwell if its found that the patents were theirs. So in summary, this will be a watershed moment.

Having read up on this , this is make or break, if its gets upheld the case is over, we lose. If its denied then it means the dispute is valid and they either continue to trial or try for settlement.
I think maxwell are in so deep that they will go all.the way to trial.
