I did read something akin to can H&W break its 13 year downward trajectory. Err ,
I think it was about to go under which is why it was so cheap when purchased late 2019. The pandemic then hit , with huge global chain supply issues , lockdowns , decimated cruise industry , ferries not operating blah blah. The timing of the pandemic undoubtedly had an impact on H&W's bottom line and it is only now really becoming clear what its true potential is.
I think we are being impacted by the short delay in announcing closure of the funding arrangements. In the interim their 34 % strike rate of winning bids almost guarantees that we will hear about new contracts very soon.
Think FY 2023 v conservative looking at the value of contracts won already Jan/Feb.
Always a decision to make when investing, am I trying to catch a falling knife or am I confident , I'm the latter , took a few more today and if those shorting are successful I'll take a lot more then a few.

Focus pee take 100 on the lack of strategy , lack of inf on what the company is working on and no inf on revenue for 2023 as we are already in last month of first quarter.
Looking at a lot of the internal promotions and a few new hires I think NCYT are trying to lock in their current talent base after a very turbulent year with the closure of Microgen and the secret relocation.

Tony Brookes comments all yards have them since grit blasting was banned. I'm guessing we do as Butterfly was turned sound v quickly. Bet the directors are buzzing , must have been so much equipment they wanted to purchase over the years and now all their Christmases have arrived at once.

Are we being advised by Navantia as to what needs to be purchased to emulate their success ? Could one assume we need certain equipment before we can maximise use of the tech transfer. No idea about length of time from order to deliver of the pictured equipment, anyone got a scooby ?

Always been a fan of his , because he had the integrity to tell the truth and stand out from the crowd. He was vocal about the care home debacle, the Immensa scandal , not utilising the existing PCR network at the very start of the pandemic , the use of LFTS and how to use them. Of course they wanted to bin him off. Would not suprise me if Handçock said bin off Nova and full steam ahead Innova . They really are a bunch of self serving lying barstewards.

I think Navantia did need Harl but to get a cut of this contract and they have to pay for that by bringing a competitor steeply up the learning curve, mutually beneficial and their expertise can be used for years , not just the tec transfer but subcontracting both to Navantia and them to us , a great partnership.
Graham it wasn't a criticism and it is purely my opinion , you may well be correct.

Xenor , I don't know a definitive answer to your question.
However it is obvious that Harl could not compete on an equal footing and in this instance ( FSS ) the partnership was key to successfully winning the bid.
Moving forwards I anticipate after the modernisation of the yards and the tech transfer that we will be at least on a similar footing to compete with our competitors , hopefully more advanced because of the tech transfer. It is an investment that can only be valued by seeing an increase in the strike rate of successful bids , an increase in margins because of streamlined automated workshops and enhanced speed on turnaround of projects. Just some of my thoughts , am sure there must be people on this board who know better then I do the current state of play if one was to list all the advantages that BAE currently have over Harl. I view Harl as the new boy in town, who has the potential to topple some of the existing players from their top rankings.

What are you saying Stokey12 it reads like riddles to me. I have been told no public consultation required with the new application and that is why it was changed. Are you second guessing that future planning applications may require public consultation ? If so may I suggest we focus on what we know and leave things which we have no idea will occur until such times as they do occur and prove to be problematic.
