RE: Diamonds8 Mar 2023 11:18
I'm a late investor to this and had only considered Romania when buying earlier in the year. I get the pain of longer term holders but what I took from the latest placing was the comment about Baita Plai exceeding expectations now and monthly production and sales climbing.
If they get this mine running at nameplate alone, it will get the price to 1p plus.
If they end up getting $11m for the diamonds and even the framework of the agreement previously pencilled in, then great and down the line there is a windfall. Very much doubt any progress on this will actually materialise until Q2 or 3.
However, when you read about what is going on over there in Zim mining in general, it's a dog's breakfast. VAST needs focus and behave like the small company it is and build on Romania as the priority and not get bogged down in the diamond frenzy. Anything in ZIM needs to be cleverly managed from a financing point of view to protect VAST from a last minute pull of the plug. I doubt AP could structure that from what I hear.
You also need to bear in mind that politcally ZIM is leaning towards China and Russia more than to the western economies. Despite the military/chinese mining partnership ending, China still has a huge influence within the infrastructure of Zim.
