In view of todays SP performance can I revise my estimate at FOIL? Say 20p!!

My thoughts, utter guesswork are:
Gradual run up to say £1.10 - £1.20 until FOIL then a plateau or slight drop over the next 6-9 month while Dr T does his magic and sees if Lancaster is a go-er (and by implication also Halifax, Lincoln and Warwick) or a damp squib. Then the skies the limit or we are in the smelly brown stuff.

My own stategy (no recommendation intended or implied) is, with my average cost of 40p this time round on HUR, wait until a 'suitable' level, give myself a severe talking to and impose a strict Stop Loss to liberate my initial investment and leave the remaining 'freebie' shares to run to their eventual boom and bust fate. To reiterate, that is purely my own intention. Happy days. Hopefully (its hard walking with your toes crossed as well as your fingers).

I am not too distressed by the company being overlooked provided there isn't a need to raise capital as clearly the dilution then becomes greater than with a 'healthy' share price. I am by nature a long term investor, this isn't exactly a trading share given the B/O spread (despite it being AIM and therefore not subject to stamp duty). So I am happy to sit back and watch until the quality of the company is recognised, at least the 'low' SP gives me additional opportunities to buy more shares if my fairy godmother turns up at the front door with a wad of cash.
One thing I like about the company is that, as far as I am aware anyway, they wear their hearts on their sleeves - the presentations are clear and comprehensive and the BOD approachable, so that investors can easily get into the nitty gritty of the operations if they wish. This shows with the level of understanding within comments on this board.

I like this company and hold a reasonable amount of shares. I bought them as it fitted my criteria of established company, doing well with a significant dividend yield - the latter reason has already disappeared for now at least. I cannot see EchoStar coming back with a 'reasonable' (and most importantly cash) bid. There was a half hearted expression of interest from Eutelsat who are very debt laden and who withdrew their interest after a day. As far as I am aware prospect of interest from other parties is just optimistic supposition. I would only advocate buying this because you think its a great British company with (potentially) a great future in a growing high tech area. I wouldn't buy it as a potential take over target, its not reason enough. All IMHO of course

I'm not 100% sure but I know they have made significant capital gains on mining industry investments, so this interest may have been disposed of.

Was just reading the FOX board. They own, and mine, marble quarries in Eastern Europe, but are yet to be profitable. I have dipped in and out of FOX in recent times, profitably, and is on my list of companies I keep an eye on as a prospective purchase. I was astonished to find that the market capitalisation of FOX is over £19m, significantly more than AAU. Cant help thinking this is either pretty much the most undervalued share I know of or that there is something horrible we have all missed...…………..!!!

As I have clearly stated before I am not a shareholder at present but watching, and reading this board daily, to decide whether to take the plunge. Neither am I a ramper ,but investors in this type of share may also be interested in Ariana Resources (AAU) if they aren't already aware. There is masses on the internet, on Youtube and presentations on the company website that some of you may like to read. Don't bite my head off, I am just trying to be helpful

Very easy to say after the event but it probably isnt a great surprise to see the relative strength of the SP this morning rather than a return to the recent lows. Those lows were in any case a 'blip', so we would likely be higher now without the 'bid'. The last month has forced discussion n the press and by brokers about the qualities (or otherwise) of ISAT. Its not unique in the world but is certainly leader in an exciting field. And its British. I find myself torn between the investor who wanted an £8 bid and a nice profit and a Brit who wants the country to do well rather than give our assets away for next to nothing for the Yanks to exploit as they have done so many times with our jewels.

In many ways this is a high risk company, not least of which is the hardware where several years of effort could be trashed by an aborted launch, or a malfunction in an existing satellite could lead to and RNS and problems for investors - cant easily despatch the AA to fix them!

I stand to be corrected (basically I cant be bothered to look it up on a sunday night!) but I'm pretty sure the BOD announced a divi reduction earlier this year to retain more profits for capital expenditure. Think yield is now c2.0%

Must admit I am a bit mystified by what happened Friday. Clearly he is playing games, but why did he not keep the door open with an unconditional bid (that was bound to fail, 532p with more than half of that in US quoted paper). Why lock himself out for 6 months when he has messed himself and the company around for a month? Whilst I don't think he is a plonker I do agree he is a smart RRRRS! This guy clearly has a strategy, I am sure we have not seen the last of him. He knew this bid would be rejected, apart from anything the UK government may oppose it.

I don't really understand this spectrum thing - is it some sort of licence on frequencies? Will he try to use this failed bid to force the US government to grant him the same thing that Inmarsat currently (uniquely) has?

With no proof I'll admit, but I will bet that the vast majority of UK PIs do not want to hold individual shares quoted only on a non UK market. Via UK based Unit Trusts maybe but not individual equities. Of course I know that you can sell such shares but Barclays who I (unfortunately) use at the moment do not support such holdings on their Smart Investor platform. And even if they did I'm sure that the fees, hassle and delay they would impose on selling non UK shares would be considerably more than UK ones. I stand by what I said, so kindly stop being patronising

I wasn't aware that the proposed offer was only part cash - I missed that, tanks for pointing it out. Certainly am not interested in part paper, especially not interested in directly holding foreign shares. Think that will keep the LSE quote well below any offer that comes about because holders would want to dispose of shares before any offer became final and buyers would want a big discount to compensate for getting saddled with US quoted shares. I for one would bail out. Even less of a happy bunny now!

I think you are in a better position than many on the board as the share price has been far higher than the current level in recent times without a bid. The company appears fundamentally sound (mind you I thought that about Carillion!), with some reservations about management rewards and the way that they elevated dividends to an unsustainable level - I think the dividend reduction alone caused much of the bad sentiment taking the SP into the 300's. Doesn't need PI's on his side. He needs Institutions (Pension funds, Unit Trust fund managers etc) on his side who control the vast majority of shares in companies of this size. They make decisions with spreadsheets not their emotions. So in that sense upsetting a few private investors really wont come high on his agenda. He hasn't failed at all yet, at the moment he is very much in control whether the people on this board like it or not (and I am one who isn't a happy bunny today, but I am realistic!).

As I said earlier there is no point insulting this bloke, he is vastly rich, very successful at what he does and knows exactly what he is doing right now. People are getting too emotional. Don't, because he isn't. I'm not an expert on takeover rules but I think all he has to do is make a non conditional offer for the company by 5pm. As long as he does that he is still in the game, I don't think it has to be an agreed offer though I may be wrong. Could be even lower than the £5.32 he tried to agree with the ISAT board. This guy is very clever, he's certainly not a plonker,

You cant knock the guy, despite several here wanting to. He is a billionaire, probably several times over. None of us are!! He wants the company, but this process is going to be very protracted, so the share price may well increase while negotiations proceed. The skill is judging how long to hold for, and exactly when (if) he eventually walks away which may cause the SP to crash. Bit like poker...….
In the meantime this isn't good for the company. The Boards eye is being diverted from their true role, because a significant amount of time will be spent on the (potential) bid.

For what its worth, IMO £7,00 is the max we can possibly hope for, and would probably be supported by the board. Given the recent share price (by recent I mean the last 2 years) it would be supported by PI's who don't want to see a return to the mid 300s (for the foreseeable future) - and the company's prospects haven't significantly changed recently other than having its SPP supported by a potential bid so a drift down to those levels is likely if everyone walks away. The outcome wont be decided by PI's though but by the Institutions, and their decisions will be done with their heads not with (like PI's) their hearts. Fingers crossed for an eventual settlement at £7.00, it would get my vote

Be interesting to see the price when the market opens, gauge the opinions of 'experts' about the probability of further offers from Ecostar or a 'white knight'. I think it is very, very unlikely that we will see anything approaching £10 per share from ES, because it would make them and their strategy look a bit daft

This offer has no chance, and EchoStar must know that. It is a stalling gesture. I sincerely hope it coaxes a second bidder into the fray. EchoStar can do nothing with only 3% of the voting rights an no support from the Board (and please chaps, unless the share structure is very odd they do have only 3%. Convertibles carry no vote until converted to equity).
