Wasn't previously aware of this bloke. Has he ever expressed opinion on Ariana?
No Tweets from the company after the flurry a couple of weeks ago. With no output from the company in any form I always feel that the SP will stagnate or drift back. The SP always seems to be reported as dramatically advancing or falling, but obviously due to the Bid/Offer spread as Google just seems to report the last sale/ purchase.
On a lighter note I had a very odd dream last night. Ariana were in trouble and the UK had bought 50% of the equity to save it. I had heard this and tried to get the SP on my phone but no signal, plus I way on the way to a formal dinner and realised I had T shirt, shorts and slippers on but people were telling me ow smart I was. All very odd, though I should add I have several pints of Salopian Kashmir last night which may explain it.

Certainly the SP seems to have got out of bed the wrong side today despite POO looking strong.

Whether the deal is good or bad isn't really binary, it can be a different result for different investors. Us old blokes would like to see an earlierreturn, no point being the richest bloke in the graveyard. Same is true for many who are more about the short than the long game. Some would like every cent extracted and are young enough to wait might not be so happy. I just wish this b****y ship would show signs of movement!

Lincoln is debateable as a WW2 aircraft, being produced right at the end of the war as a development of the Lancaster. The Lincoln was destined to be used in the Pacific theatre but of course two big bombs ended that (I think that the Lincoln was then developed further as a maritime patrol aircraft called the Shackleton). May have been used in Korea? Warwick was a development of the Wellington, again successful. Halifax was successful as was, of course, the Hurricane itself, which arguably did more to win the Battle of Britain than the Spitfire (but not as glamorous).
All successful aircraft...........except unfortunately the Whirlwind which wasnt as its engines didnt work very well, Rolls Royce stopped development and no other powerplants suited it - that was despite Whirlwinds sowing early promise.......lets hope history doesnt repeat itself,

Also thanks to IJWT and Ecosse for SXX info. Pretty much confirms my thinking that SXX will eventually make money for someone, trouble is that at the moment I'm not sure who!

Agree with you. I would be happy with the SP being a gently monotonically increasing sequence (sorry, the mathematician in me again), though of course it wont be. I haven't sufficient imagination to know what to invest in if it did shoot up and I got rid of it to be honest! I really am that dull.
I think I am more concerned with the Turkish economy at the moment, especailly with imbecile Trump around, so as a proxy just keep an eye on the Turkish Lira/ $ exchange rate to make sure it isnt going bonkers. Low Lira good for costs but not if it falls so much that Erdogan introduces some radical policies to protect the Turkish economy that injures Ariana. While there is a dark cloud over the Turkish economy I would imagine the SP of any company with significant assets there will be restrained.
Anyway ..... back to cars. I love old Alfas and in my 'yoof' owned (at different times) 2 1976 Alfa GT Juniors (the Bertone bodied one). One was a lovely low mileage car, the second a shed with bits of bodywork that fluttered in the breeze. Both would be quite valuable now, certainly more than I sold them for! Anyway, I'd like a mid 1970s Spider 2000 (the one that came between the 'boat tailed' Graduate one which I have never liked, and the later ones with horrible plastic bits and bobs on the outside). The reason I am going on about this is that Ive just discovered that Compomotive are making reproductions of the Momo Vega wheel that was an option on all the 105 series cars. I'm quite excited about t! Superb looking. I think I am going to buy 5 of these wheels while they are still available to inspire me to find a good/excellent Spider (in pretty much any colour except red)

I have been looking at SXX this morning and pondering whether a bit of diversification is in order following its price drop. Its a share I keep an eye on having made a few bob trading it last year. Bit out of touch with it, and really cant bring myself to read the 450+ messages posted on the SXX lse board since 7 this morning.
At the risk of being shouted out because I am on the wrong board, have any of you clued up chaps got any feelings on SXX they would care to share with me?

Probably talking through my rear end but I'm not really expecting company news. There is trial minng and exploration going on so not really expecting Director trades until the results of that are public, and the results wont be published imminently as they have to be collated after the geologist have had a good think over a glass or two of vino. I think all we may see is some pretty photos on twitter

The old CAPS thing is something I do sometimes too as I stare at the keyboard, not the screen, when typing. Full stops are another problem - occasionally I can't find it so I just write one long sentence. My worst problem at the moment is that the 'h' on my laptop is hard to get to work, not great with my name really. Not sure why for certain but I think there is a crumb of marmite on toast stuck under the key

Ouch! Seems I timed my small fridge/freezer sale rather well yesterday.

Excellent post, ta very much.
Don't want to type hundreds of words but from my own perspective this deal gives me peace of mind. I see your comment that some prefer 'organic' growth, but that makes the whole investment far riskier for the reasons you state. I, quite simply, don't want to spend my life (as I have been recently) watching shares prices every few minutes, checking RNSs every morning etc. I want to go on holiday without worrying about getting a good internet connection, being out of touch if I suddenly want to sell, watching the stock market while mates are watching sport. O dear, I have got old?! But I mean it, this deal may arguably have blunted the eventual SP potential but what price peace of mind? It has at least partially de-risked my holding of this share.

Was a bit of a heretic this morning and sold 6150 at a tad over 58p.
Only did it because my holding wasn't a round number and as a mathematician it sort of irked me. Plus my daughter needs a fridge/freezer. Well makes as much sense as many things do on this board! My average is 40p so the profit will cover it nicely.

It surprises me that, amongst the near 200 posts in the last 2 days. no one has noted that the POO is currently >> $78 and apparently climbing. That is despite idiot Trumps attempts to talk it down - all that has been happening is temporary depressions in price followed by Brent bobbing back up towards $80 again. This is very important for the financial health of all here.
This is great news for this share, which wouldn't have an SP anywhere near that predicted by the posters here at FOIL if it retraced to anything like relatively recent lows.

Is 250+ in 14 hours some sort of record?
