Was Colin also involved with Dana? As implied by earlier messages I am not currently a share holder, but it is on my watch list. To be honest I don't feel I understand PMGs strategy, my initial investment here was 'following the man' after the Dana success which had benefitted me. I will be doing some research with a view to possibly reinvest if I feel more comfortable with their direction, think I've been a bit lazy to be honest..
Hur is an interesting one, but far from achieving a true mcap Im not sure anyone remotely knows what its mcap should be!! Their situation is that they are about to commission an early prodcution platform, which will either prove the fractured basement concept (in which case there will be significant revaluation upwards) or prove the doubters right (in which case their could be a significant (and abrupt) revaluation downwards). Could be a bumpy ride. PMG is a far 'safer' bet, I certainly doubt its SP is as potentially volatile.

I agree with all you say - and yes it was Glen Parsons, I ended up with the impression of him as a shiny suited used car salesman - that's obviously an unfair comment about him as clearly Mariana did deliver, although from what Dr S said the porphory that Mariana (and their majority partners whose name escapes me) discovered had an element of luck because they couldn't drill where they actually wanted and went for an alternative site where they could.
I don't read much into the fact that recent share purchases have been largely the Chairman. Dr S will have share options and as quite a young man may not be in the same position to buy further shares in the market - at least not in the quantity Mr de Villiers has, think he's up to c.5% (lucky chap)

Have to admit that I bailed here, a 1/3rd at 65p and 2/3 at 75p. Bought the first shares at £1.80 in late 2014, averaged down over the years and just saw the recent spike as an opportunity to exit at a profit. I just didn't ever get a real feel for where this company is going the way I do about say HUR. I was lucky enough to be part of the Dana trip, so grateful to Tom Cross for that. Hence bought into the new TC vehicle which he originally predicted would be an 'accelerated Dana'. It hasn't been, though that is at least partially due to the POO over the past few years. Good luck to all investors, I just don't see Dana repeating itself unfortunately, also bit worried about the dependence on one key staff member.

Agree about AIM, my experience has been mixed to say the least. A few genuine, good companies and more than its fair share of dodgy ones. Dodgy not necessarily by design but due to incompetence. Must admit I bailed out of Mariana too early because I thought they were dodgy - the guy running it (Glen something?) went on and on about how good Argentina was, then it was somewhere like Peru (a game changer so he kept saying again and again) then next minute abandoned that at a total loss and said Turkey! Hot Maden! game changer!...…….and I thought 'not again' and bailed!! Made a few quid but not as much as I could have. Its important to me to have confidence in the BOD, and in Marianas case I (to my cost) didn't.

Is the company exposed to a slowdown in housing in the South East or the current problems with retail? The latter I can see being an increasing problem - or to put it another way I cant see it getting better - with the combination of business rates and the rise of internet shopping leading to downward pressures on occupancy and rents.

Makes you wonder why the FDA wants to protect GSK and allow the US consumer to continue being ripped off in a monopoly situation. If I was a cynic I'd say that some palms are being...…….no, no.no, I wont say that.

Maybe! I think that if AAU ceased to be AIM by joining a 'senior' market (as Hurricane Energy is likely to soon, where I also hold shares) then you can reinvest in another AIM share and carry over the period which you held the old share to that new share - there is a 2 year holding period to get IHT benefits. Several articles on the internet about this. May seem a bit technical (not to say morbid!!) but in terms of tax planning it is worth looking into.

I have popped in and out of this share once or twice, and currently hold a few thousand.
Seems dead, not helped by a) Carillion b) No confidence as shown by director buys since late 2016 c) Maybe worries about labour commitment to HS2 thus making the SP sensitive to teh popularity of the governmend (like the Utilities).

FYI PMG was in the Malcy bucket list until late 2017, and regularly reported on (I was a PMG shareholder). He removed it from the list, the reason being was that PMG did not provided sufficient information to allow him to feel comfortable continuing to include them

It is reassuring that these buys keep coming from someone who must really know what is happening on the ground in Turkey, as well as all about the commercial and political relationships that Ariana is necessarily involved in. As a man not that far from retirement I wouldn't have thought he would be a rash investor, so as far as I can see this is more evidence that the Board are being very straight about prospects. Am sorely tempted to make a further investment, I suppose I really ought to sit myself down over a pint tonight and talk myself out of it

Indeed. In the recently RNS re Prelim 2018 Q2 Production Results Dr S said 'We remain confident in delivering positively against our production guidance of AT LEAST 20,000 ounces for the year'.

My experience so far with this company is that they understate and overperform, unlike many on AIM! So I do have confidence that in excess of 20,000 oz is likely, maybe as much as mid 20s. Surely that should start to move the SP finally, especially with the rather mishandled placing fading into the more distant past?

My only comments are that the plant grades are....what ever they are at the moment! They exceed the expected grade due to something about clay, they are encountering more or less at the moment, cant remember which but it is working in Arianas favour, but I don't think Dr S thought this would necessarily continue.
I think it is rather premature to talk about 30k pa production rather than 20k, that is a big expectation to give prospective shareholders. The last quarter must be pretty much the most benign in the year weather wise, unless a massive amount of ore can be mined and stockpiled over the summer months then isn't there likely to be far lesser production in the winter??
I'm not a deramper, far from it, just trying not to get too excited or I'll be back buying more shares tomorrow!

I had no objection to what EU was, I am not happy with what it has become. And its hard to know what will happen post Brexit, we will never know whether it was good or bad - both scenarios cannot be played out.

Getting back to ISAT, my preference is that it remains as it is and flourishes to became a great company the UK can be proud of. Its very easy to hope for a takeover and a quick buck, and I have no problem with people wanting that as the are after all investing for profit. But I would prefer to play the long game and see ISAT surpass the £11 high and make my money that way. Whatever happens, my few thousand shares wont sway the vote if a takeover occurs!

I am still of the opinion that the unexpected SP strength this week is not because of an impending bid, but because of recent events leading to better awareness of the company through articles such as this. I may of course be wrong, more often than not I am!

Be a shame if we were to lose this as a UK company. Post Brexit we are going to need quality companies like this one.

Although I was not at the AGM, other posters who did attend have confirmed that the intention is to fund Salinbas drilling from free cash flow. You cannot expect the Board to categorically exclude the possibility that future events (eg a decline in POG) may require some form of fundraise, but have indicated that if this were the case it would be in the form of a rights issue with existing shareholders invited to participate. So therefore a fundraise through a placing is not inevitable as you state..
