On the face of it a bit naughty as they are obviously taking advantage of the plunge in SP to feather their nests.
On a contrarian view however the are making a commitment and obviously feel themselves we are at the bottom of the curve - which itself implies that there is nothing nasty hiding just out of sight in the bushes.

So now 24.75p, back at August 2016 levels. People still think the board shouldn't trouble themselves to issue a reassurance statement?
I'm sure they could tear themselves away from their important work for 10 minutes to enable that. It is partially their silence, assuming there is nothing up, that is feeding the speculators/ fearful causing this decline.
Yes they shouldn't have to reiterate what they have already stated, but maybe the situation is bad enough that they have to.

So oil is about say 50 million years old or older. The water, assume perched, has been trapped for the same period, contained, unable to escape or be added to. The seas/oceans get saltier over time. Why cannot this debate be put to bed by comparing salinity of the trapped water with the salinity of the surrounding water.

The Board are like us I agree. Shareholders. But unlike us they have inside information, even if they aren't allowed to exploit that. They are however sure of the facts which, at the moment, the greater pool of shareholders are clearly not confident of. Again, what is the overhead of a short RNS stating that despite rumours that appear to be circulating the market the position last communicated on 13 December is unchanged. Without it speculators get rich at the expense of shareholders, should the BOD have no regard to the very people who gave them enough respect and cash have made this venture possible?

I agree, and all I want the company to do is issue that statement - it would reassure small shareholders (by which I mean personal shareholders rather than Institutions) who could cease to worry there is something nasty hiding in the bushes.
If it doesn't happen I will be more convinced than I have already become that HUR doesn't give a t*ss about us! As I have said before I can remember a time when you couldn't get Dr T away from a TV studio with Malcy and others. That seems a distant memory and communications are, in my opinion, poor to say the least

wellwell, I think some report by unscrupulous media is the last thing we need, don't wish for it! The guidelines quoted by Aqua don't preclude the issuing of a statement when there is no news - but the same guidelines would require that any reassurance given in that statement would be accurate, hence seen to be accurate, which is exactly what certain of us think is needed now. As Peter says, how long would that take realistically?

No daltry, Speculators have got hold of this now and we need a statement. We are going to 25 or less if this continues.

Not really MM. The results were predictable, I don't think anyone who really knows and follows this company would be surprised at them. The guidance was obviously going to exceeded following the third quarter results 3 months ago. In fact guidance was so conservative that I suspected it would be exceeded comfortably when announced last Jan/Feb (whenever its was), and said so at the time. This is a very small company and a relatively small deal can influence the share price significantly.
