Quite right. Offered to buy a poster a curry if it goes to £1 as he /she predicts. It did occur to me that in the unlikely event that happened I would have to consider which flash new motor I'd go in!
I have ended up averaging down at 38, 34, 31 and 30 as we have always previously bounced rapidly from such levels, and that was before we had all the positive news we have had since. Did a bit of profitable trading at the early 30s but then comes this latest amusing little twist. So 'balls deep' as you so eloquently put it.

If I could just comment, we seem to have had 2 new contributors today. The first (who appears to have disappeared already, some kind of record?) does appear to have been a bit of a **** . But I think a few have been harsh on TS. What he said about the profile of buyers and sellers from the trading stats was very valid. So I will go against the flow and welcome him.

Well I didn't buy more, my hovering finger restrained by the possibility of an RNS in the morning that doesn't contain the word 'pleased' in the first paragraph. If that is the case I am in enough of the brown stuff without adding to the agony. There surely must be such an RNS if there is a problem, as HUR SP is now down 40% since the 29th November just gone - a fact that the board is obviously totally aware of.
I get the impression of Dr T as a bloke with a difficult side (we all remember the short snap aimed at that analyst) but that he Is aware of his responsibilities. I don't think he will necessarily make a statement if there is nothing to report - ie that all is going well. He would reason that he doesn't have to say the same thing twice. Don't think he probably has much time for small PIs either, shareholders in general are possibly a necessary evil!

I agree, the management should release a statement. I have been sitting all day contemplating whether to add and hence average down, when in truth I would prefer to reduce my exposure as I have done recently with another of my large shareholdings.
In truth I still am non the wiser despite having read closely every comment today.

I am probably wrong but I don't think the current jitters are about financing. Its about sentiment with the future of the GWA JV because of Spirit having a 'for sale board'' up, its about constant worry by people over the water issue though Dr T explicitly denied its a problem. The company is producing and earning.

You have a lot more idea than me, why would OGA not give the go ahead - surely companies would not be incentivised to embark on drilling wells costing ten of millions if, after achieving success, the OGA can just say 'nope' and cause it to be plugged and abandoned? That would be like a planning permission process which said build a house and when you've finished and furnished it we will tell you whether to tear it down or not.

Seems we have a bit of a perfect storm going on. Climate activists given many column inches to condemn the very industry we are in, 2 less than successful wells on GWA (but still with positive indications), Spirits future uncertain, an increased water cut in Lancaster and near silent company communications, an expensive rig lying idle with apparently little idea of what to do with it, two poisoned dwarves to contend with (widow Krankie and 'How Dare You') and PIs bailing possibly aided by pre set Stop Losses being breached.
But
Producing well above expectations at Lancaster, very promising well on LC hopefully to be tied back to AM, assurance that water is perched (and a promise to inform of any negativity which hasn't occurred), EPS working well, PoO not shabby.
This never was going to be a walk in the park, new tech in a hostile environment would never be a one way street. Don't know what to think, but uncertainties are bound to weigh heavily here. Maybe the CMD will clear the air - anyone tell me what is the date on that?

There is an expression, cream eventually floats to the surface. If HUR is good then we will succeed, if not then we wont. Nothing to do with Dr T who I agree is a poor communicator and seems to be getting worse. It wont take years, it will take until things are clearer and that will hopefully be soon. The market hates uncertainty, and add speculators into the equation and you get this sort of situation.

Thanks malrees, pretty much as I thought/hoped. The MC of HUR is down to $580m. If Spirit dropped out then who knows what may happen.

What happens if we 'lose' Spirit? I assume Spirit can't reclaim the money already put by them into GWA - if that is the case at least HUR would have gained significant knowledge on GWA for free and possibly a LC production well for tie back to AM provided OGA approve?

Have to admit I've had enough now, 50p they could have mine so I could move on. Sad thing is I actually mean it.
