Just been looking at some previous years market capital data on Oilex, makes for some interesting analysis. Back in March 2014 (yes they've been around this long), they had 677,906,039 shares in issue and the share price peaked in March at 0.0462p. That gave a market capital of £31.3m. For those long serving investors I don't need to dwell on the past 7 years, but suffice to say I believe we are in a far better place today with the impending completion of 100% interest in Cambay, and that £31.3m valuation seems a tad on the light side. I agree with previous posters a share price of 0.01p giving a market capital of £50m on todays shares issues, is not beyond any realms of possibility on a good JV deal and funding announcement. I continue to hold and have added further yesterday.

It'll be interesting to see how 'leaky' or not the JV deal (should it transpire) is. For sure volume will be the key pointer, plus you may get a Republic looking to increase their holding further. They'll know before us PI's whats occurring.

imj.beadle.... so are you suggesting that Oilex have mis-informed the market in their recent news releases regarding timing of the next Cambay updates, namely finalisation of the sale and purchase agreement and GOI approval of transaction. I am sure if you look they use the words - "Completion of the Transaction will require the finalisation of a binding sales and purchase agreement, and finalisation of funding arrangements, both of which are expected to occur within Q2 2021." RNS dated 1st April 2021.
I have also been in touch with the company directly and they confirm that they are still working towards these time frames. I think your statement is some what misleading imo.

Don't be surprised to see the GOI approval drop anytime. Conversations are obviously ongoing about Cambay. Could catch a few by surprise.

Logic would suggest next announcement should be GOI approval of the transaction, followed thereafter by the sale and purchase agreement ratification which may/may not have any conditions from the GOI incorporated.

As for the placing with institutional investors I can't see them trading these for a quick buck in the short term from the May available dates as per yesterdays RNS. As I mentioned before they will have been taken "inside" and will know a lot more around the details of future strategy, plans and up and coming milestones.

We haven't seen any capitulation to the placing price yet, which bodes well and does perhaps suggest that the MM's will know another RNS could drop anytime with further updates to the project. This acquisition is all in play now and certain events will now occur in time, patience if you are an investor. Trade it if you are a trader short term. Either way this recent news will now the business to move forward with more strategic plans, totally within their control.

This funding has been undertaken with institutional investors who will have been "taken inside" and no doubt given a bit more meat on the bones of the situation. That's just how these matters work. This is great news for Oilex and now enables them to push on with completion of the transaction and commence drilling of the wells. This is a good positive announcement today but as normal the de-rampers will be out in force trying to scare you into selling your shares. The placing price is totally irrelevant as it has no bearing on the future enterprise value of this business. This is just purely funding, real value is yet to be realised.

Showed up eventually. Lot of MM shenanigans going on with trades at the moment. Should hopefully get some more news flow next few weeks. All to play for.
