Espenviking....steady on now :-)
I just do a lot of research before I invest and that includes reaching out to the company directors and ideally requiring a conversation. The decent ones oblige and don't turn their noses up at the retail investor. Roland has been just that.
I am more than comfortable with my investment here and have thrown in a large capital sum, plus I've still been adding in the past few weeks based upon how the strategy of the business is now starting to come together.
We have news flow from many angles, some of these will be just confirming BAU, but nonetheless need an official RNS, others will be more exciting and will start to hopefully driven more value and SP appreciation. Nothing is a given though, especially on AIM, and I've been investing in it for over 15 years.
The OEX story for me is compelling in that they have done the discovery phase of O&G, they know whats in the ground, its just a case now of getting the right JV partner, better technology and a clear plan of delivery cashflow. Roland's background ticks all the boxes for this, and he is confident of this phase.
Cambay is the absolute focus at the moment and I totally get why. I am not looking at any of the other projects as creating value at this stage. What might transpire though is a "new" project that ticks the box of being cashflow producing.
One lesson I have learnt with AIM O&G plays, real enterprise value only starts to materialise when you turn the cash flow taps on and start covering costs and making profit. Prior to that it's like a lottery, loosely governed by AIM rules, and a vehicle for individuals to draw a salary and spend investors cash on trying to discovery the holy grail. More than often this doesn't materialise, and then the band wagon of fund raising just keeps chugging along, which grips investors and most end up then losing money.
I've been a CEO and MD of businesses and ever since I can remember its been rammed home to me that 'cash is king.' Think of that when investing in AIM, but more importantly, is that cash being turned into revenue or just blown on costs with no revenue in sight. I happen to think OEX could be cash/revenue producing in the next 6 months from what I have been told.
