Agreed chequepal, having our fuel being produced will remove many hurdles for QED, Valkor being able to produce our fuel will allow them to sell more than the piddly amount the roads department and local refineries can handle.

HF, the samples prepared by Valkor in early August were from start up operations which are not adequate for testing, as the Email points out, the samples need to be from continuous operations which starts today as per Trios news. So I would say a lack of communication has led to Valkor being a tad premature and possibly overly excited to get the ball rolling. all good for us, proves how much Valkor needs us

During my time at Quadrise Plc, our biggest competitor has often been potential customers choosing to ‘do nothing’ rather than adopting new technology that will benefit them quickly. This choice is increasingly no longer an option, with new government regulations, EU directives, and UN climate agreements incentivising the development and use of new technologies to combat the worst effects of climate change.

We have seen these regulations and initiatives result in increased interest in our technology from new potential customers in the marine and industrial sectors.

MSAR® and bioMSAR™ fuels excel in modern electronically injected diesel engines designed to run on heavier fuels and which are installed in most vessels built after 2010.

These engines need virtually no modification at all. There are 12,000 large ships (>10,000 tonnes) with engines such as these according to Clarksons - 11% of the global shipping fleet by number, but 40% by engine power capacity - that could potentially be converted to run on MSAR® and bioMSAR™.

Quadrise is pleased to see that Valkor has received permission to commercialise the low sulphur oil recovered from oil sands at its Asphalt Ridge site in Utah.

We look forward to receiving samples of Valkor’s heavy sweet oil to commence the testing and conversion process, which is expected to lead to the marketing of low-carbon, low sulphur MSAR® and bioMSAR™ to the marine and power sectors.

New technologies must be evaluated comprehensively rather than just focusing on one specific issue, as solving one problem can sometimes exacerbate others.

This is why I’m proud of the solutions that the team at Quadrise has developed. They address both global and local emissions. Compared to conventional marine fuel oils MSAR® reduces CO2 emissions by up to 9%, and bioMSAR™ by over 20%. Just as importantly, these water-based emulsion fuels burn at lower temperatures, reducing harmful NOx emissions by up to 45%. The tiny size of the fuel particles ensures almost complete combustion, minimising soot and particulate emissions locally too.

We’re also pioneering new initiatives with partners that will reduce emissions, ranging from converting ultra-low sulphur natural bitumen to a diesel fuel with 15-20% lower carbon intensity in Utah, to expanding the use of sustainable biomass-derived sugars by blending into bioMSAR™ to offer the shipping industry new solutions to decarbonise their existing fleet.

We couldn’t get a refiner onboard for the trials, so we are using a terminal and manufacturing ourselves.
