Too many irons in the fire again, its a shame that Mac2 were not responsible for the bunkering of Leandra and Cargill or any other supplier were not just suppliers of HFO and Glycerine to manufacture the fuels, Quadrise are responsible for the manufacture of the fuel at the Mac2 terminal and the Leandra is in Antwerp, what could be more straight forward.

Get the Lono's sorted then negotiate for future volumes.

Leandra has a third fuel barge alongside, looks as though this will be the bunker port of choice for the current transatlantic route, hopefully get some sort of update before she arrives back at Antwerp in a months time.

I emailed IR around a week ago with a few questions relating to the trial, no reply as yet, anyone heard from ir or are we on a total blackout.

She currently has 2 fuel barges alongside, The Atlantic Power that has a track transiting her direct from Rotterdam to alongside Leandra, also the Sinjoor from Antwerp, she has been alongside other vessels on route to Leandra, so she is definitely taking fuel. The question is, when will it be ours.

Port of Antwerp has her arriving on the 10th at 1600 and leaving oddly on the 9th, one good point is that it confirms, she is leaving under Mexico route.

Also interesting to see which route she takes. Could be Mexico or Turkey according to her schedule. The point to point has her dedicated to the Mexico route for the foreseeable future. So have MSC given us a curveball or is it a glitch in their system. Interesting week ahead hopefully.

Just getting away from Liverpool, ETA Antwerp 8th August according to AIS. Hopefully just an over refreshed skipper.

Her new route takes in Antwerp and sails across the Atlantic to Mexico visiting Antwerp pretty much once a month with 16 day transits between continents, a good route for both POC and LONO.

The POC fuel on the Maersk trial was manufactured in a remote location and trained in, to be bunkered on the ship, every possibility that the POC has to be fulfilled before the majors sign off for the LONO fuel, can only hope that PR has hit the nail on the head and she takes the POC compliment of fuel at Antwerp, time will tell.

2016-2017: Operational trial supplying MSAR® to Maersk’s operational 52,000DWT/4,300TEU

container vessel the Seago Istanbul. MSAR® was produced at Cepsa’s Refinery Gibraltar San Roque

in Spain in commercial quantities to fuel the 68MW main engine.

The operational trial involved:

• The production and supply of 7,000 tonnes of MSAR® at the refinery, from visbreaker residue

(see refinery case study) derived from a variety of opportunity crudes. Production occurred

over 6 campaigns and over an 8-month period.

• Loading onto a bunker barge at the port of Algeciras, and transfer to the Seago Istanbul.

• Seago Istanbul, an operational containership in normal service, completed ~1,500 MSAR®

running hours, following its normal route and re-fuelling with MSAR® at Algeciras

approximately every 6 weeks.

The MSAR® fuel performed well and feedback from Wärtsilä and Maersk was very positive. As a

result of the successful operational trial, Quadrise received an interim Letter of No Objection

(LONO) for MSAR® for Wärtsilä RT-flex96C-B engines.
