An agreement would be good for all sides. I can't believe TP et al would agree to something that would be seriously detrimental to us posties. While I fully accept that change will/ is needed it could never be on RMG original terms. The opinion in my office of 70 ish staff is that if IA is needed, it will happen. That has strengthened since the original vote as more posties became aware of what was happening. RMG are now fully aware of this. Let's see if Greene keeps her job. Whatever the outcome, it should never have gone this far. A new CEO beckons in the next financial year. All IMO.

@ mad. Didn't sign up for w/a and I try to stay away from fb. I worry about some of my opinions. Besides, can you imagine if I had a friend request from Arsenal or jonjo? What would I say? Just had an update from a mate: on going talks but it all looks positive and all cards are being played close to the chest. A little joke earlier lads (or ladies).

@ Arsenal. I've not heard anything concrete. But a well thought of rep has told me that he expects an agreement to be reached. Thinking of buying back in?

Meeting the PEC tomorrow.

I believe the CWU are meeting the postal executive committee (PEC) to inform them of the talks pre and post Xmas. It'll be interesting to hear of RMG's stance now that Xmas is out of the way. For anybody with any doubt, the CWU stance remains the same. If the proposals are not acceptable, we will walk.

@ Arsenal. Of course the fact that there have been tons of packet is not applicable in my office, is it? 14 hour days for 3 weeks for some just to get all items delivered and some even work going in today. Everything cleared, unlike some other couriers. Does that make you happy now? Am I one of your gang because I worked my tits off?

@ jonjo bag. You really do not have a clue. You invest a couple of quid and think you know everything. Spend 6 months as a postie, then you may understand. You quite clearly have no understanding of how the job works or how much work we actually do. The only thing that makes sense in your post is about modernisation. For what it's worth. I did invest, not only in the SAYE scheme but also out of my bank account. 590 shares @ 360 and 487 @ 410. Still holding too. Just because i say it doesn't mean it's true though, does it. For example: Arsenal claims to have made over 20K since RMG privatisation. I on the other hand think his real name is pinocchio. Each to their own lies, eh? Regarding the freebies: Of course i took them. Why wouldn't i? My final salary pension scheme was taken away in 2008. Overtime rates severely reduced. D2D payments replaced with a single delivery supplement. So i've accepted 5 grand in free shares. It's has already, and will continue to, cost me many multiples of that. @ madas. Do you not think it strange that because we are trying to protect our well being, financial, health and otherwise, we get slated for it a d called, among other things, selfish? Isn't the very notion of investing in a PLC done for self gain, to the detriment of the workers? What one word would encompass the above sentence?
