PL75 ...I didn't say I had 'lost' faith ...I said my faith was being 'tested' ......you have been here as long as me and I have read your posts over the last couple of months and your frustrations have pretty much mirrored my own....I guess what I'm saying is when you have made an investment that you believed in ..in 2020 and the SP 4 years on is more or less at the same level as it was then (for what ever reason) you look around at the many opportunities in those 4 years that may have proved more fruitful...... and quite obviously feel a bit a bit of fatigue with this current investment.
Okay look honestly I'm really not trying to sound negative and I am someone who has been invested in this business for over four years but we really are stuck in treacle….we have gone from one of the most popular and followed companies on AIM over the last few years to a business that nobody any longer has any interest or faith in.
For several years we have been a company that many PI’s would speculate on in anticipation that ‘re-rating news could drop at any point and riches would be made…. but sadly because of a number of quotes/statements (call them what you like) from our now departed CEO that in revenue terms have actually amounted to nothing followed by the 50p placing on the back of a funding question and the reply being “don’t worry about that”……….we have in my opinion really become a dead duck…..and clearly not helped by the HC sell off each quarter
Obviously I don’t mean a ‘dead duck’ in terms of a business, I mean from the perspective of the wider community of AIM which although it is the Wild West of stock markets did (for 4 years) until March keep AVCT in the spotlight…….. sentiment has now gone and as someone said earlier today the SP is now not going to move on anything other than good hard facts that will in turn create a pathway to revenue……..I just hope that we hear something positive soon….and I mean something concrete sooner rather than later because if I’m honest for me my faith is being tested and fatigue is starting to set in.
There isn't an option at Companies House to list an Ex Director as 'sacked'
AS's strategy was in effect to not boost the Sp which was pretty much down to two factors ...1) That Avacta was 'his' company and...2) The disregard he had for the SH base.......I hoping that the new direction that Avacta are taking has amongst other things on its to do list.....some SP boosting
I think like the majority here I was glad to see the removal of AS, for too long he has shown a serious lack of business acumen and actually why would that be a surprise he is after all a scientist and I don't even know if he was a good one because the original tech he had been treating as a science project for many years wasn't actually his own work anyway.
Obviously there is no reason why some scientists can't become good CEO's ...will CC be a good CEO...I don't know time will tell but what I do think is the BoD are now well aware that the company could no longer continue trundling on ignoring the fact that ultimately its first responsibility is its shareholders.....and that means commerciality.
@PJT12......spot on...I accept the need not to dwell on the past but the whole acquisition stuff was ego driven and part of AS's personal dream rather than what was best for Avacta PLC.
..............."Overstaffed for sure"............."DX side now needs streamlining not run as 3 separate unrelated companies"...............
I'm glad other people have picked up on this because it has been a bit of a bug bear for me, if you exclude CC (CEO) and TG (CFO) they have a...
Chief Operating Officer
Chief Scientific Officer
Chief Commercial Officer
2 x Managing Directors
Executive Director
and a Chief Operating Officer (Coris)......... and probably no end of middle management too so it's no surprise why its loss making, they have had plenty of time to streamline and trim the numbers.
Look while I agree with the sentiment with regards to no info on the 50p placing, in the capacity of CEO she only rocked up this morning........I'm sure it will be revealed before too long......whether it be a piece in Oncology monthly or an article by Giles in Shares are Us.......I think we should just hold our council for a little while and see what comes out.
Idiot russell. "Obviously looking at the buys v sells since the presentation began, not many people positive".....that's because maybe people are busy listening to the presentation.
Why are people engaging with this kit kat character.....they turned up this morning because they saw an opportunity to get some attention......and they are getting the attention they seek .....just ignore them and they will move onto to the next BB
Does anybody have any idea with regards to AS's options, more often than not options for CEO's are issued to be exercised when certain SP level is reached (as an incentive) in AVCT's case they were given out as sweets as an extra perk.
Unless there was something written in his contract which I very much doubt.....I guess he keeps them all, in which a new house and 6m shares...... it's not worked out so bad......other than maybe his reputation as CEO material.
"Someone not keen on the RNS 250k dumped"......HC... they had 7m to shift and while in my opinion they forward sold (shock horror thats not allowed) they will have plenty left.
While I don't agree with @Thevaluecurves sentiment towards the company the results weren't great and certainly do highlight what most LTH's felt, the M&S strategy has been a complete disaster and that outlined AS's incompetence long before the "don't worry about finance stuff'.
The acquisitions have brought nothing to the business and it's not hard to imagine how much more attractive the company would look today in SP and finances if any money raised from a CLN had all gone into the Tx business.
👍🏻 Bart
I would suggest the SP is currently in part reflecting the markets confidence in the CEO and the CFO rather than the confidence in the science.
That is shocking......you only have to read it once to to straight away see the mathematical error
Sorry...BST 6.54-15 seconds
To be fair having been here over 4 years and having invested a fair amount of money (clearly not wisely so far) I think I know the difference between a vaccine and a targeting chemotherapy treatment which the texter in question was referring to....LBC catch up Ian Payne 7.54-15 seconds.
On LBC this morning.......discussion about cancer break through's and while the company name was not referenced ....to people that are invested the text that was read out was clearly championing the early progress of Avacta's trial so far .....Sujood maybe?
@Icecool you're out of order mate...why are you laughing at Doggy, he's been here yonks and for the first few years was a real advocate of the stock.....now when driving his tractor in the early morning he probably thinks the same as most of us that having listened to AS's superlatives over the years....where did it go wrong.
I invested early doors in the 30's, listened to what AS had to say over the years and bought more and in effect it turns out have been averaging up! and now after over 4 years of waiting find myself currently in the red......and here's a laugh if you want one, I sold my entire M&S holding at 98p and put the proceeds in here..........so yes it is a bit galling having listened to AS spout rubbish year after year to then see him go and invite all and sundry to help themselves to 50p a share.......with the added bonus that they can forward sell to make some extra money.
