Hi all, I am feeling a bit stupid right now, I understand many will argue I made a good decision buying evraz, however, my problem is not so much that I will or won't lose money, but more about a lack of confidence in my own abilities as an investor. I feel like I've gone into this share, haphazardly, and that I would like to improve my skills as an investor.
Does anyone recommend any books, or monthly publications for a keen investor? I am happy to take risks, and understand that I may lose the money I used to buy evraz shares, and that was always the case, I'm just not sure if the risk was quite as calculated as I would like.
All thoughts are welcome, I've only been actively investing for about 4 year's, and I am in my 30s.

Urraca, surely they can set things up where RA has no voting rights, and the dividend is paid into a reserve account, to be frozen until sanctions are lifted etc?

A very good point, reminds me of that movie, about Alan Turing, where he says people like violence, because it feels good. Same applies here, people want to delist the shares, because it feels good, it gives them a great sense of giving russia, and evraz the finger, but at the end of the day, what is important, is stopping the russian military from invading, and killing, and the best way to do that is to keep it on the LSE.

I personally wouldn't care if I could never sell them, if I still got the dividend. I only need 2 years, and I've made my money back. Chelsea is a bit different, RA agreed that the money can go to charity, so he is not benefiting, therefore, sanctions Don't count.

hopefully, mine is 150, would have been more, but I decided I wasn't willing to lose any more on it if it went tits up.

Also, as the shares are suspended, people will be thinking the company is already in deep water, so will probably stop chasing the government to sanction them etc. To the general public, it appears like the company is getting their dose of pain. Also, it helps me sleep at night, because I don't have to wonder if I should sell or not. :p

There was another thread, and someone seemed to think they can still be paid, as far as I know, the suspension only effects the ability to buy and sell on the exchange, all other activities should be theoretically possible.

Mad really, evraz is guilty of selling steel, meanwhile, the British are selling literal weapons to the Saudis, to be used in illegal wars. I honestly don't know what to make of the world, so muhc suffering, we live in such a bubble in this country.

I second what Freds tash said, I will be more than happy to sit on this for a while, as long as I still have my shares in a few years, I'll be happy.

I always welcome alternative viewpoints, respectfully posted, Thank you. I am not exactly that great with all this TBH, main reason I'm in on EVRAZ, is because I bought at 300p thinking Putin wouldn't invade. Then I averaged down later, not sure if I was acting from a good place, might have possibly been chasing losses, and made a mistake.

I hope so, but I am somewhat cynical. I am not sure we can trust the Russians, and Vladimir Putin. That being said, perhaps they will accept a deal to save face, because it looks like they are being humiliated by both, the Ukrainian resistance, and the lack of military support from their allies. (please note, when I say "Russians", I am referring to the military/government, and not the people, whom many do not want the war, and are no doubt, lovely people.)

What exactly is the point of the bots? Are they russian, or British, or private individuals?

I hope you are right Hippo, sounds like a reasonable theory. Like you say, they've got to at least look like they're doing something. Maybe suspension is a good thing, means we can sit it out, rather than the LSE/government looking for a delist/sanctions on EVRAZ. I'm just gonna wait, either it comes good, or it doesn't.
