Is the AGM open to all shareholders? I hold mine in an ISA, can I go?

Basically the same reason people still work for a boss they hate. They need the wage, and therefore compromise on their own standards.

Though also, they talk about RA selling his stake, so it seems they are angling for evraz to remain in business, but without RA.

Apologies if already posted, cannot find the date of release. I notice the describe it as "extracting wealth", yet if you were to say that about an American company, you'd be called a communist.

If I were Finland/Sweden, I'd join NATO now, whilst Russia is already struggling.

Only problem with this tactic, is that Russia will think, if they are sanctioned regardless, then they may as well continue their campaign.
I think there needs to be serious talks in regards to this situation, proper talks, not just the US and west pointing the finger. We need a serious agreement, that guarantees peace and security for all.
i know easier said than done, but this state of affairs, with sanctions, and war cannot be the future for our species.

Pure conjecture, but divi date is just before the weekend of this important date. Perhaps someone knows something we don't? (This post is purely for discussion, I am not saying anything is going on, just thought I'd post for a nice talking point)

surely because they are a British PLC, if they did "what they want", they'd be risking a fraud charge from the UK, and in turn basically be banned from any country with an extradition treaty.
I'd have thought it would be a last resort, I'd imagine most of them don't want to become international fugitives.

I agree with infinity, whilst I admittedly don't know a lot about how this all works, they can't just make pay the last list price and disappear. The price on the stock market is essentially an offer, they are offering to buy your shares for X amount of money. You can choose to take it, or you can just say no, it has no real weight to it, it's just an offer, and nothing more.

I wasn't in the game during the crash, I wish I had been. Is there any way to predict these big price movements? Any recommendations on reading material in this regard? I keep thinking, some of my mire speculative shares seem to boom all of a sudden, then patter off. I often think, I could sell after the boom, wait a month, then buy back in. I am trying to remember Warren buffets advice about not trying to time the market.

I think the issue with the RR share price lies in two main points. Firstly it doesn't have great cashflow at the moment, so those that buy based on current earnings aren't going to be too impressed. Secondly, the prospects of the company seem good, but we don't have an Elon musk type, who rallies everyone to pile their cash in on a whim. So I feel like it misses a lot of market niche's. It doesn't appeal to the boring investor, nor the wild gambler, dreamer type's.
I have invested largely because I believe in the company as a fundamentally good company. The share's were cheap in the pandemic, and I bought on that basis, with an eye on recovery.
The SMR might not grab the headlines like tesla, and hydrogen startups, but I know as soon as the money starts flowing, the numbers will push the price up, as the safe players move back into Rolls Royce.

I read a week or so ago, the peace deal will include guarantees of safety from other countries, but that they will do that, after initial talks with Russia. So believe this indicates that peace talks are moving forward, with other countries involved in talks for those guarantees.

@ £35 a share, I'd be more than happy. could probably be semi retired on that kind of cash.

You make a good point, like all things, we'd all love to be puritans, and keep our pride, but realistically, that isn't even an option that is available. They've got a few choices, and in every single one of those choices, innocent people die.

It's aweful, sad state of affairs, and TBH, I'm glad I don't have to make those decisions.

I think China don't like the whole nuclear weapon thing. They don't want nuclear weapons even considered. Russia is a loose cannon, and that is what China doesn't like. They want to be partners, but they also want to look like the good guys, which Russia is making very difficult.

They do say the first casualty in war, is the truth.

One thing to remember, is that mining stocks, almost always have assets in countries that are considered politically unacceptable. I would consider it unreasonable to expect companies to essentially predict who is going to be the next bad apple. Fair enough, they might say, no further investment, but just grabbing assets, based on nothing more than the fact that they own a mine, in an unfriendly country is outrageous.
