I think the main problem is that, the legal issues that have arisen from the whole sanctioning thing are diabolically complicated. They've decided to suspend trading, because they literally don't know what to do. IF the war ends, and sanctions are removed, they will all breath a sigh of relief, having solved this complicated legal issue. No doubt there will be future laws in regards to new investment in Russian assets. They might do a split up, but by the looks of things, Putin is stepping on everyone's toes, and I wouldn't be surprised if he is removed in the near future.
TLDR; it's a disaster, and no one including the FCA knows what to do.

here is official statement, mostly tax related, and only effects new share purchase's. Done because they have stopped non Russians selling shares. Seems pretty reasonable IMO, the MOEX is not acting within the rules, and therefore they're protecting retail investors.

in regards to splitting up the debts, I'd imagine most of the debt is secured against the various mines etc, and thus the debt which is secured against the kaz assets, will go to the kaz biz, and the debt secured against the russ assets, goes to the russ business.

Right, that's good, I would have bought even more, but I can't bring myself to put all the money I have into something with such an uncurtain future. If it comes good though, I will still be significantly better off.

I have mine in Barclays ISA, they only deal in UK shares, and this year they are adding some EU and US exchanges. Anyone know if Id still be able to hold the shares, and receive a dividend? As it stands, if they were to list elsewhere, I'd still be more than happy to just get the dividend with not prospects of selling.

I really hate having to agree with trump, but in regards to NATO etc, there is no way I could disagree. The whole left right dichotomy is half the problem, people disagree with even the most logical proposals if it's the opposition that proposed it.

TBH, if it meant I could get my dividends, I'll happily mess about setting up an account, assuming It can be done.

In fairness to RA, and any Russian in the public eye, to denounce the war publicly, is a very dangerous thing to do. Putin will no doubt take that as a declaration of defiance.

I wasn't trying to scaremonger, I was more talking of the decision to attack Russia. Wether he will or won't use them, it's still something that could happen, and therefore, it will still affect the decisions made by NATO.
Captain swag, that's a good analysis, and probably where it will go. I actually suspect that the initial move on kiev was means of saying "we could do this", so when they take the east instead, it seams like a good deal.

I half agree with you big blue, I feel like, Putin didn't expect NATO to move in, and a quick move by NATO would have put him on the back foot.
Trouble is though, the man has nukes, and to attack anyone with nukes, is to risk total annihilation.

Will take a while for the results to show, but as soon as they announce their profits back to pre pandemic, or there abouts, SP will be in a good place. Though TBH, SP is less of a concern for me, I'm holding these for 5 years at least. What would be nice is a dividend.

I see this as positive, It's a PLC, and ultimately, if someone gets charged with a crime, and say they owned a load of shares in Royal mail, would that all of a sudden make Royal mail a "criminal organisation"? I think the main risk isn't from the LSE, or the FCA, the main risk is Russia confiscating the russian assets, and even then, I'm not sure they would do that. They still appear to be attempting to maintain an amount of legitimacy, let's not forget, Russia still has other partners, China, India etc, that it will want to keep a good image with. Confiscation of any PLC assets will destroy trust, and signifantly effect future trade deals, and foreign investment.

Boom, this is why I bought more shares a while ago, unfortunately SP has since gone down, but I expect once they show a nice profit as business as usual returns, we'll see a nice rise in the SP.
