It will look at operations in relation to whether shareholders/the market has been misled. It is not regulated as a financial services company but as a publicly listed company.

Anyone suggesting a time for restoration is totally guessing, it could be later today, could be next month, nobody knows.

As Parm says, that response doesn’t say anything at all, it’s a clear ‘nothing to share publicly’.

I go back and forth on whether better to have an rns sooner rather than on restoration but on balance think ASAP better, if they get funding then it’s proof of concept and time for that to sink in for the market would be good - it’s normal for an rns from the co on restoration too, which would give them an opportunity to reiterate the previous one(s) (alongside the primary reason for the rns) which you can’t usually get away with!

It would of course also be quite hard to prove the point at which an rns became due for release - if AZ was minded to wait for restoration he might hold of sitting an i or crossing a t on a final bit of documentation...?

The only risk in my mind is a leak, so certain people would have that info in advance of others...so for instance you could get ready to sell immediately on restoration or arrange funds to immediately buy, depending on the news. As I said, I know quite a lot about the rules in this area but am unsure of this technicality...working from the point that you must still stuck to the rules, strictly there should be no delay to any rns (so when making a judgement about whether something would shift the sp and so merit an rns, there is an implied ‘if the share were trading normally’ in the rules?) But as I say, I can’t imagine the FCA taking the time to act on an apparent breach like this if net effect is there was no leak so no disorderly market.

It definitely can and (IMO) should be Tex, but suspect that the FCA wouldn’t make a fuss if an announcement was delayed until restoration, provided there was no leak. Im basing this view on the fact that an ‘orderly market’ is supposed to rely on everyone having access to the same information at the same time (and on a timely basis) and there would be little or no difference in that respect between rns during suspension or at the point of restoration.

Don’t think it was an accounting blunder. Be very worrying if it was, especially given the nature of the business. Nor was it self adopted. Benefits though...as mentioned by Gotham and Hindsight.
