How woupd you feel if peace was suddenly declared and the BP share price fell loads in one go? Would you be gutted to have missed out? If so, sell some now. If the price continues up, you can sell the balance later for added profit!

The price of Brent crude just hit $100 (£74.79) a barrel, rising by 9% on Thursday in Asia.

Oil prices have not eased as even after dozens of countries, including the US and the UK, announced they would release record amounts of emergency reserves.

Iran has also continued its threat against ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, a transit point for a fifth of the world's oil.

US-traded crude has jumped by 9% at $95.27.

Oil prices crossed $110 a barrel on Monday and has fluctuated heavily since."

Wow! BP must surely open higher...but by how much?

Looks like the attack on two oil tankers in Iraqi waters has spooked the markets or woken them up and brought them to their senses. As I type this at near 01:00 GMT, Brent stands at $99 per barrel. Perhaps it will hit $100 again very soon?

This tells me that the USA and Israel can declare mission accomplished at some future point, but should Iran wish to continue the war, it csn do so economically by deciding who can and who cannot use the Srtait of Hormuz.

A lot of the reports are negative and not just because it sells.

I had suspected that President Trump's comments about the war being over soon were merely to placate the febrile oil futures market, as after all, Iran has a say in when it is over too.

It seems like the markets are starting to look at the reality of the situation, rather than the lip service.

I set orders to sell some BP shares at 505p, 507.5p, 510p and 515p. The first two got traded. I reinvested into L&G which has taken a hiding today.
