The UK evacuating diplomatic staff now tells me that the UK reckons that the weekend d strike by the USA could be coming. My guess is that the weekend is most likely because the financial markets are closed and Trump does not want to spook them.

The market likes good news and fewer taxes exporting to the U.S.A. must be that for UKnfirms for an exporter tonth3 U.S. However, the market dislikes uncertainty and now that Trumo has imposed a 10% taroff on all and sundry that will temper any pleasure, The uncertainty is whether THIS is even legal. Also, will those firms who paid the tariffs get refunds, andnif so, when,mif ever?

I believr that BP was not affected bybthe tariffs, what with the U.S. being such a big oil exporter now.

The question is who is buying, and why? Until we know that, it is ha4d to judge what to do.

Yesterday, the BP share price was caned. Today, it jumps hugely! Isnit all doen to oil futures, or a realisation that yesterday was overblown?

Cutting the Capex budget and stopping buybacks would indicate to me issues regarding liquidity. That might explain the reason for the sale of Castrol.

Obviously, shareholders liked the buybacks.

Or, as one report put it, BP is more sensitive to the price of crude than other oilers. Perhaps they see a fall of the price of crude forthcoming.

The RNS says that buybacks will stop...and the share price falls!

With the share price above £4.50, it would appear that the matket doew not agree with the cessation. So, clearly, the bulk of shareholders preferred the buybacks.

It dependsnon the price of crude. This is out of the control of BP management, whoever that is.

A cut in the dividend would lead to an immediate and huge fall in the share ptice.

The debt pile is not such a bad thing, so long as interest paymemts can be kept up. There is no suggestion that it cannot.

Even if Iran did lash out, how long would a jump in the proce of BP last? A week? A month?

I should be sorely tempted then to sell up and rebuy on the way down!
