Deleted my previous order. I have one sell order of 1,000 shares at 505.1p and another 1,000 at 515.5p.

If these prices are not achieved on Monday, they will surely be reached this week, bar an Iranian surrender.

My guess is that BP will open at 08:00GMT at 510 pence.

Gillian Joseph on Sky News hasnjust said (22:24 GMT) that crude has breached $100 per barrel.

It was not stated if this was the cash or spot matket or the futures price.

Could somebody kindly post the opening Brent price at 23:00 GMT?

If the war goes on for another five weeks, the price of crude would go well over $100 per barrel in my opinion, assuming that the Strait of Hormuznremains closed.

The White House is reported on Sky News as saying that it expects the conflict with Iran to continue for another cour to six weeks or more or longer!

Even at "just" four weeks, what would the price of Brent be then? Certainly at least three figures...

Are people here who have sold some or all of theor BP shares following the war in and around Iran? Or,mare there any of you who have decoded to hold tight as they suspect that there is still plenty of upside to come?

I sold a small percentage to take some profot and reinvest in other shares that are down plenty (and so cheap!).

The market is now closed for the weekend and we can watch the news with the pressure off us as to what to do, if anything.

Does Iran even holdnhypersonic weapons? Even if it did, could they not be destroyed aleady? Why would Iran blow up oil infrastructure? Surely they would launch at the US aircraft carriers?

I set a sell order for £5.002 for 2,000 BP shares. To my surprise, this was executed in minutes. When I look at the graphs of the BP share price for the time of the sale, I cannot see it hitting 500p! Must have been a momentary spike by one market maker.

Immediately reinvested in IAG and BAT as both are down heavily today.

How do you know that no preparations were made? The US Strategic reserves held to mitigate price fluctuations.

Only likely to be an issue crude remains high for a long duration. Short-term spikes will make marginal difference only.

The price of BP shares reflects not just what is happening now, but all knowable future events. Sure, the price of crude is up, but if people do not think that it wll last long, this will be reflected in an unenthusiastic share price rise.
