Again, anything is possible and 55p was just behind us. Like the tide, shares go up and down. If SB plan works I suspect it will be looking back at 55p and pushing on up. How long into SB's three years will it be before we start to see any improvements? moorhey, I didn't miss the point, I just put less emphasis on it that you maybe. EV's are here now, on a smaller scale and there are charging points. I dont think they were put in by NG. I suspect if we go further down this road, pun intended we will need 4 or 5 charging points in each household. I think domestic leckys will be doing this sort of thing not NG. who will need to gear up for the extra demand .... errr just like they have been over the last few decades. I have noted a few groans regarding losing out on the deal but no one has specified actual buy dates n prices just that "I've lost out" comments. If you bought higher than the deal price then yes you have lost out but some seem not to understand how it all worked and its not just the return of capital. The buyback, which is at least buying more cheaper, should add to the longer term. The fall in share prices has been matched by other utilities over the same period as we came off market highs and political comments were absorbed, nowt to do with the special, just look at PNN. Hopefully there will be several savvy heads in your club who will extort the virtues of adding some more NG. at some time. After all they have more of the gas to sell and some of the value will out. In time I suspect those losses will be swallowed up and "we" can all celebrate.

I dont think NG. has much to do on the French side of things except for setting up parts of the grid. Maybe we could take theirs on too. Might come in handy if the pound goes down.

I suspect they are selling some of them back to other PI's not the company per se. As for why, I think its very personal, maybe time for a new car, holiday or add your own excuse. I suspect rates might push up a tad but I dont think there is a rush just yet but the data could change faster then the bank. Talk seem to be having a big affect so who knows what bombshell an actual rate rise will do. As for notional losses, I suspect many come for income and that has not changed and is expected to rise so any divis can be used to add more as it gets cheaper. moorhey, with respect, I think you are up the wrong tree. This is a bit of a bond proxy so with "talk" of interest rate rises the SP will fall. The margin should increase slightly post the sale though. Yes the divi is planned to rise by RPI but the performance is limited by the regulator remember. Add to that political interference recently you can see why 5% is more realistic IMO. Safe divi, normally need x2 cover to be classed as safe!

danieth, I don't really have a "biggest" holding as I generally keep it balanced. I have the usual divi income shares and collect the divis and invest in what ever looks cheap on a dip whilst trying to maintain the balance. it might stop me adding more once I hit my limit until I bought more of something else so in effect reduces the % overall. I suppose the shares rising might also stop me too but why buy expensive shares Should I include the Verizion block with this? I keep it as a separate holding and its % is falling as I have not added any more although put some of the divis back in Voda. On that note Verizion seems to be getting worse in relation to Voda lately but I still like x6 divis a year from the two

If you paid more then 1012.5p then yes that collective is worse off and maybe a few who were hit with extra divi taxes etc but even then it depends on what price you paid. The special divi (or return of capital) was 84.375 not 87p so no wonder you feel aggrieved but at least get your figures correct.
