The long leases at Debs are seen as a negative as loss making shops cant be closed down or moved. Do they get lower rent rates, some maybe. Why move for one saving to gain another when you could take up concessions. So what is he up too? No idea on Magic Mike, I'm sure he will surprise us or at least me.

Toff, I dont know where you got those figures but you have MRW on a 5.7% yield. I think those are way out as I have it just over a couple of percent but if that is wrong what about the others? I suspect customers having in effect, less money rather than FX rates for MRW will affect the outcome on profits. Yes things are getting harder, for most retailers but I haven't seen anything to date that says profit warning but maybe I'm not looking hard enough.

I liked the idea they were reducing debt levels and the metrics look good. That has changed in the last few weeks. Forecasts for some of the metrics also look to be worsening and it now all depends on the rate of change and is it better or worse than forecasts. Hopefully SB is getting paid to make the right changes and turn things around or maybe they cant just stand still and survive. I'm no retail expert so will leave him to update things soon. If we are given hope and the figures are not that bad things will improve. A lot is being priced in, is too much? SP dont always reflect the true story and can rise or fall way too much. Someone mentioned 23p, I cant guarantee that wont happen. Market correction, wars and Brexit might all play a part even if its only for a short term. If I thought it highly likely I would sell but I dont today, tomorrow is another day though. There was another lady on here that shorted but was stopped out for a small loss. She was proved right but was unfortunate with her timings. Hopefully we will be luckier even if I'm wrong on some things here.

dear boy what you need is more hindsight .... only you need it in advance! I always think in terms of percentages rather than cash amounts. You have to do whats best for you and within the risks you are willing to take. I bought on a dip after thinking I had missed the boat. Hindsight says I should never been on the dock but time is on my side for a little bit longer anyway. Its only a small percentage of my PF (eggs n baskets) I suppose it might be more if it was doing better and generally I like to collect divis and reinvest so the SP going down is normally ok with me as it allows me to buy more. Stop losses work for some but you only lose when you sell at a loss or it goes Pete Tong. Of course if it keeps dropping your loss might feel mote like a win. You wouldn't leave a tenner on the street and walk past so why risk more than you already have. Hopefully you have more winners and even Buffett gets some wrong. Looks like there are still in their ivory tower. I take it the Fat Cat name calling hasn't reached them yet or that there is more political interference coming the way of companies that might be deemed to be paying too large salaries. I dont mind big pay rises as long as the share holders get the same benefits which in this case doesn't seem to be the case.

Spikeyj, I only remember because I was doing the opposite of Woody even though I had given him some of my funds previously. Maybe I need to reassess, was I taking too much risk or was Woody too cautious? Anyway he thinks its better now. Confirmation bias most probably on my part. I have taken the opposite stance to Woody a few times now over the years and only time will tell who was most right or wrong.

QE, I think my point was that I would have been better if I had followed Carrington's lead in bailing out early with my own Debs holding. I was hoping for a bigger running divi yield on growing divi not by buying more on SP falls to get a bigger divi yield. Some posters do detail their trades and you are correct it give more credence when reporting/boasting on profits rather than the oh look at my massive profits just after a bounce routine. I generally collect divis as my profits rather than selling but maybe there is not that much to boast about when its only a few percent at a time. Strangely no divis to collect last week so cant boast about anything but my increased holdings in TOWN will come to the rescue for next week Yah go Town! Mrs G wont be buying me any cards as I just chuck them in the bin. Did find a birthday card that was a few years late that she put in a draw for safe keeping and forgot. It didnt have a tenner in :(

I also dont know his average rebuy price but its been ranging 200 to 230 plus the loss of divis Of course he might have put the dosh somewhere even better over that time and be a lot better of than not selling Voda, one may never know the real picture. Im not concerned about the differing funds more the thoughts that he now thinks its worth buying compared to previously and at current prices. He cant use the same funds anyway as he moved and set up his own firm instead. The real question is will he be buying anymore? He has to find a home for all that dosh people keep giving him to invest no matter what the price is
