With less than two weeks left until the second round of Ecuador’s presidential elections, the left has victory in sight, according to recent polls.

Leftist economist Andres Arauz is the favorite to win the country's presidential runoff scheduled for April 11 with 37.87% of voter support ahead of conservative banker Guillermo Lasso, who has 30.19%, according to the most recent survey conducted by polling firm Perfiles de Opinion.

In your discussions did you touch on the current disappointing SP and if so was there a view as to where Solg see true value being reflected in the SP going forward?

RK - From recollection I think Solg have until 11th May to make up their minds whether to draw down the additional $50m from FNV

The electoral campaign to choose the presidential formula in the elections begins tomorrow, March 16, 2021 and will last for 23 days, once the Contentious Electoral Court (TCE) denied a claim by Pachakutik to open the polls. In this way, it was confirmed that the two finalist candidates , Andrés Arauz (Unes) and Guillermo Lasso (Creo-PSC), go on to the second round, which will take place in four weeks, on April 11. The TCE determined that Pérez's claim for the counting of votes in 27,000 ballot boxes had no legal basis. Thus he confirmed the presidential results proclaimed by the National Electoral Council (CNE) on February 27. The sentence is of last resort and, therefore, cannot be appealed, although Pachakutik may request a clarification or extension that will not change the content of the resolution.

Spot on Barry and as I previously pointed out Hervas is a left wing candidate so possibly more likely he and his supporters will get behind Arauz which could see his share of the vote getting towards the magic 50% mark so for me Arauz is very much the front runner but either way I don’t think it would matter as both he and Lasso are pro mining and getting Ecuador back on its feet financially so whoever wins the election will need as much revenue as possible from any and all sectors including mining!

Bozi - Agree that transparency is always to be applauded but my post was indirectly aimed at ColonelDrake who has a track record of ramping when he’s bought into Solg and deramping when he’s out! It’s patently clear to me and others on this board that he is currently out and therefore his posts are either overtly negative or quite cleverly obtuse but with a subtle negative undertone. But just to be clear nothing wrong with posting about topics which may impact adversely on Solg which could be helpful to other investors but I won’t put up with someone who is doing this because they are out and would like the SP to drop so they can feather their own self serving nest! Sadly CD is one of these people and as I pointed out previously just wait a while until he’s bought back in and watch the tone of his posts do a 100% U turn! Someone who I previously respected but not anymore and now in my trash can with all the other disingenuous self serving low life’s

Haha spot on DBW. Take it that the Colonel is still up to his old tricks? It will be as clear as day when he’s back in and on full throttle ramp mode again! So transparent it’s laughable

DBW - Let’s not forget that it was hole 5 at Alpala which was transformational so even though like you I get frustrated at the lack of news I keep reminding myself that it could take several holes before we find the sweet spot at Tandy assuming of course there is a sweet spot but based on what Solg have found so far they seem confident that Tandy is worth the time, money and effort of several thousand meters of drilling so I am hopeful they will hit some bonanza grades but it may take a little time and patience IMO

Hi Rich. Re your last post is it by any chance replying to a poster called Seanhunter? The last time he was on the Solg board was some considerable time ago ( over a year I think) and had to filter him because if Iremember rightly he was getting quite disruptive on the board picking arguments etc etc. (Think he was also deramping but as it was some time ago I can’t fully recall all of the circumstances which led me to filter him) In anyway if it his him then he really isn’t worth wasting your breath on!

Also the volume was large ( by TSX standards) 373k shares traded which is much more than an average day so bodes well for Solg on FTSE tomorrow IMO.

Looking like we might match up with the Canucks upward move on Fri so hoping we can break through 26p and head towards 27 by close which still leaves us massively undervalued but at least it has a modicum of respectability!
