Just follow the RNS relating to each notification. So in the case you mention, The Capital Group informed the market this week that they have UNDER 10% of ASOS shares. On 27th June they stated they had over 10% of shares. That means during the last 2 months they sold shares but still own between 9% and 10% of ASOS's shares.

Hi Ben, don't apologise...it's all new to everyone at some time. Every quoted company has to declare to the market how many shares with voting rights represent the full shareholding of the company. This is because anyone who owns 3% or more shares must inform the company if they buy or sell any shares which changes the percentage they own in the company. This provides transparency to the market, to Directors and to other shareholders. It also allows all parties to see how close those shareholders are to being legally required to make a bid for the company (at 30%). So for example, Bestseller own just below this level and are therefore not required by law to make a bid for the company. I hope that's helpful.
