RR still going in the right direction!

Hmmm. Well it’s been on a tear since results day. Will it smash through the £8 barrier this week? Looking very likely!

Well after a stellar rise on Thursday results day and a respectable rise on the Friday I’m wondering if there’s still a bit more to go next week. If enough investors people have digested the results over the weekend and realise this is not the end but really the beginning of sustainable growth for RR then we could see a little bit more SP increase over the coming weeks. Next big leg up once SMR is announced! I did think £10-12 summer autumn 2026 but RR could get there by the end of 2025!

Jakeyork! Why are you blaming the current government for not commissioning SMR or "cuts"? RR were screaming at the UK government back in 2016 about SMR. They didn't want to know as theres a lot of vested interest in the continued use of gas for electricity generation.

SAF e fuels which don’t require farm land. E-kerosene, sometimes called synthetic kerosene (not to be confused with Bio-kerosene's), is a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) produced from CO2, water and renewably-sourced electricity. Carbon capture is a key part of the manufacture of E-kerosene.

Well congratulations to all. I still think £10-12 by the summer autumn 2026 is more than achievable. I’m also not convinced that the possibility of SMR contracts are actually baked into the share price. I also now do not believe that the recovery is actually over despite lots of articles saying “the tail windows of recovery are long gone!” Clearly the futures bright the futures RR!!!

This could end up being RR best year for the SP rise. Next leg up when the SMR happens! Congratulations to all! Anyone still not think it’s a buy/strong buy? I’m going for a lie down!

Rolls-Royce is scheduled to report full-year results on Thursday. Here is what you need to know:

REVENUE: The FTSE 100 engineering and defense company is expected to report a rise in underlying revenue to 17.34 billion pounds ($21.96 billion) compared with 15.41 billion pounds the year before, according to a company-compiled consensus.

UNDERLYING OPERATING PROFIT: Underlying operating profit is expected at 2.29 billion pounds compared with 1.59 billion pounds, according to a company-compiled consensus. Rolls-Royce has guided for a figure of between 2.1 billion and 2.3 billion pounds.

FREE CASH FLOW: Rolls-Royce has guided for 2024 free cash flow of between 2.1 billion and 2.2 billion pounds, and a company-compiled consensus expects the figure to land at 2.23 billion pounds.

Does anyone know roughly what time the results are announced on Thursday?

So keeping fingers crossed for a 25-35p rise and finishing tomorrow over £6.50. Just hope it doesn’t shoot up early and spend the day slowly dwindling down.

The newly elected German Conservative Party that will lead the Government wants new nuclear. It would be ironic if Germany orders RR SMR before the UK government make a choice.

Well there’s no bad news for RR so yesterday’s drop is clearly down to MM. RR is in a positive strategic position and has a very strong order book.

Well 3 years of strong gains. The backlog for Airbus is a problem but then the order book is extremely healthy. Next weeks RR results will be at the top end of the guidance. I’m expecting a 25-35p jump on results day.

Well it’s looking extremely good for getting close to £6.50-£6.60 ready for results day on Thursday 27th. It’s all positive. Every chance now of £10-£12 by summer autumn 2026.

Boom flying out of the traps!

My understanding of the ultra fan is RR new scalable engine. Rolls have said some of the technology and materials are going to be retro fitted onto Trent engines to hugely increase durability. The RR 3 spool geared turbo fan is actually less complex and less compromised with only 5 compressor stages than a 2 spool design with 8 compressor stages from the competitors. If you see people talking or hyping un-ducted fan (UDF) engines these are a hybrid of a turbo prop and turbo fan. UDF suffered from being considerably noisier and other issues and was abandoned in the 1980ies. GE and Safran recently started working together on a prototype but whether they will ever over come most of the issues remains to be seen. RR bought Allison so own Allison research into UDF engines so could resurrect that if needed. If you look currently the 3 spool turbo fan is the best option out there and the Ultrfan 3 spool design takes it a leap further so RR already have future proof engine design waiting in the wings. This is a guess but a larger variant of the A350 will use Ultra fan UTF105.

What “airline” boss wants to be caught with their traders down?

Especially as there’s expected to be huge growth in long haul and you’ll be losing paying customers because you don’t have enough capacity compared to your competitors who went the airbus route!

Jimbo27. I agree that Mr TC prez at Emirates isn't a big fan of the engines, lean burn engines with high sulphur kerosene and high sulphur atmosphere have durability issues. The ongoing issues at Boeing don't seem to going away. Other airlines will see that other airlines are effectively cancelling their 777x orders. Once some start to switch to airbus wide bodies it'll accelerate. The longer they leave it the less chance of a successful order slot with airbus as demand will be increasing. FOMO, fear of missing out will kick in very quickly. Which boss wants to be caught with their trousers down?

So looks like nearly 40 777x orders have been put on the back burner In January. The plane is estimated to be 8-10 years late. I wonder how many other orders will follow and be put on the back burner? Potentially new unexpected orders for Airbus wide body planes might start to happen this year.
